New CW Showroom - Dallas

Post by kev017 »

Just listened to the excellent Scottish Watches Podcast interview with Mike France. As you would expect, very insightful and focussed on the Twelve X. One "exclusive" that Mike revealed at the end is that CW have just (or are just about to) sign a lease on their "first CW showroom in the US" which will be in Dallas, Texas.

I know the US is a BIG place, but as someone reasonable close the the CW Showroom near London, this will hopefully allow more people to get hands on with the brand and make better/more informed decisions.

Interesting. Our very own Kip ran a CW showroom in Nashua, NH between 2014 and 2016.

Maybe the statement is coming from the same marketing department that gave us “last quartz watch” and “last models to feature the SH21.”

Flights to Dallas would be cheaper and shorter for me but I prefer to visit the current and new HQ in Maidenhead.

@kev017

Two possibilities:

A. You misquoted
B. Mike forgot Nashua

I’m sure someone else will listen and confirm yea or nay. It’s not really that important anyway. History is full of such things.

It's like the CW marketing team forgetting that there were three anniversaries for the C12X. Twenty years of the brand, 10 years of SH21 and 1 year of the "the Twelve".

Hopefully Mike F. just phrased things wrong and didn't forget about me. :shock:

I think the Dallas showroom will do well because a lot has been learned from our first showroom experience and Dallas has a much larger population base. That plus CW is far more widely known than it was 10 years ago.

And Dallas, while a big city, is hardly NYC, Chicago, or LA.

I wonder what the reasoning is for Dallas over any other city?

From another podcast interview with Mike Pearson, I got the impression it’s his home base when he’s not traveling

I'm sure there are several reasons for choosing Dallas over one of the larger coastal cities, including the space rental being cheaper, it being a more central location for people from all sides of the country, and Dallas being very business friendly. There's also a major international airport in Dallas (similar to JFK and LAX), which would help with business travel and imports.
