Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
I'm sure it's both - deliberately

(As it's a chronograph, I'm sure it'll be very cool for people who like chronographs. It's not for me so I can just enjoy the reveal. If it's really 11.55mm thick then it's probably worth everyone taking a look)

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
That could be a killer holiday watch on rubber.
Current collection = Omega Seamaster 2225.80.00, Omega Speedmaster 'Moonphase' 3576.50.00, Breitling Aerospace Evo, Vintage Azur, Vintage Seiko Sprtsman, Grand Seiko SBGX059, Omega SMP NTTD 210.92.42.20.01.001, Casioak Milkyway, Casioak Tiffany Sky.
Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
There was an observation by someone recently that there isn't a chronograph in the current lineup. This changes that. I like it, although it's too similar to one I already own so won't be looking to get this one.
Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
It might be the angle of the photograph but those subdials look in a similar position to the older quartz motorsport chronographs. This might explain why it’s only 11.5mm thin.
Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.
Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
Not sure what movement that will have. The position of the sub dials look to rule out an SW510M.
I will probably wait for the C12 annual calendar, moonphase, GMT, chronograph, chronometer.

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
That case thickness is seriously impressive. How on earth have they managed that!
Fair play and very good looking

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
11.55mm is seriously svelte, so I wonder what the movement is. Hand wound, do you think? I prefer 40mm plus, but 39mm would surely be OK, with no bezel or tachymeter.
I have a C7 rapide chronograph which I find awkward to read, but maybe this will be better. I hope so.
It says chronometer as well, which is good.
It looks like the lower subdial is running seconds, and the left subdial is a 30,minute counter, but it's not clear what the right subdial counts. Maybe 10 hours in half hour increments. That would be more useful than just a 30 minute maximum.

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
Actually, I think that may well be correct. You normally see mechanical.chronographs with subdials at 3 and 9. Subdials higher in the dial are generally quartz (a la moonswatch). That would put dampen my interest.

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
100% quartz. CW would not release a chronograph in chronometer guise as their first and only Sealander chronograph. Plus, the subdial layout.
This looks like many of Tissot’s quartz chronographs on the market. A really disappointing release IMO if that is what it turns out to be.

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
Read my lips - “no more quartz models from CW”.
IIRC a chap at CW said as such a few years ago…

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph
Be interesting to see the price of this, if it is quartz. I quite like it. Clean design. Applied markers. The flash of red. Good size.
