Don't rant, James. Just deal with it forensically. Be totally calm and ask DPD to provide the name of the person who took delivery of your parcel (i.e. you apparently) and provide a copy of the e-signature which they can email you, and the time the signature was made on the drivers pad. Then you politely inform the company that the driver has falsified your signature and no such delivery in person was made and you nor anyone else signed for it. You then ask how the parcel was delivered to you e.g. in person, into your hands, left on the doorstep..... Then you ask what would have happened had the dustcart tipped your bins in the lorry your watch ended up in the nearest landfill.

Keep us posted. It's good to know how these things develop. By the way if they say they can't release the e-signature under DPA do remember to ask what article of the DPA prohibits the release of "your" data to you and ask what data they hold on you that can be released. Can't wait for the answer/s. Good luck.

New cw courier DPD...distinctly average

DPD is better then Royal Mail for me as I work shifts. DPD email me a time period when they will deliver so helps me plan better. The local sorting office for Royal Mail is 30 min plus round trip and they only open in office hours, again as a shift worker this is mostly not sufficient for me. Think I would rather check the bin!! Lol

Nothing but good to say about DPD up here, I also know the drivers name - Tony - and having nothing to do I can trace him as he makes his way around Northumberland to our house. Now UK Mail and Yodel that's another story!

Posty is fine as well as is the Hermes guy who will find somewhere to hide a parcel and then stick a note through the door telling us where. Mind you he comes in his own car and lives on our estate!

same here!

Thank your luck stars it was your own bin that the driver popped it in.... unlike us a few years ago ( different delivery company) - Mrs B arrived home to find card thru' door saying "parcel in bin" and thought, hmm, that's strange, our bin is in the garage! So she checked, and the garage was locked, but noticed that next door's wheelie bin was, as usual, adjacent to our front door. She lifted the lid, and there was her parcel at the bottom of the bin. Feeling relieved to both find her parcel, and that our next door neighbour hadn't deposited his daily rubbish on top of the parcel, she tried to reach it out. But she's very short and couldn't reach it. So she stretched a bit more, lent in as far as she could, still couldn't reach it, had a last attempt, and fell in the bin! Struggling to free herself from the smelly wheelie bin, she was regretting getting herself stuck, and annoyed that she still had her suit on, she heard the sound of an approaching car, the engine off and door closing, followed by a familiar voice.... "can I help you?" - it was our neighbour arriving home.

Fortunately he was a very tall chap and had no problem in extracting her, feet first, from his wheelie bin.
So I wish I was James Bond, just for the day.
