It's a pity that the C9 doesn't have this - both subdials (and the big second hand) are for the chrono function. I like to see a smooth second hand somewhere showing signs of life in the watch.nathanclarinet wrote:6 o'clock sub dial for seconds.welshlad wrote:Or a second hand (not sure about the IWC).ianblyth wrote:Also noticed that the C9 and the IWC don't have a date window. Re: New C9 Sapphire Chrono Released
Agree. I only have one watch in my collection that doesn't have a second hand, and there is something missing from the whole interaction without a sign of life from the piece. You could just leave the chrono running all the time, I suppose. Some are known to do that even for watches that have a subdial for seconds.welshlad wrote: It's a pity that the C9 doesn't have this - both subdials (and the big second hand) are for the chrono function. The Sapphire looks good in general, but I don't know that it's a total winner for me. I think I'd go for the Rose Gold before this one. I know, it's got a white dial - big shocker that I would prefer it.

Re: New C9 Sapphire Chrono Released
Most of my Heuer chronos are sans a small second, only my manual wind Monaco shows signs of life. My Magrette 'Bronze" had the second hand removed on purpose.

Re: New C9 Sapphire Chrono Released
I would say that indeed it's an ETA 2824-2 or similar. It's nothing like the ETA Valjoux 7750 visible through the back of a C40 Speedhawk - there should be all kinds of chrono-related fiddly bits.asqwerth wrote:
I didn't spot the disappearing pushers, but I did wonder if this was actually a 7750 movement, or wrongly showing a ETA 2824-2.
As others have said, I feel it's a pity to lose things that the 7750 movement intrinsically does, i.e. the 'normal seconds' sub-dial at 9, and the day+date. I think I once said before: the description says the 7750 is 'modified' - whether just to remove various things?
Re: New C9 Sapphire Chrono Released

Same price as the Zeno version (And looks very similar) But with Sapphire glass, bigger case and not to mention that splendid CW warranty.
No brainer really!
which pilot one are you referring to? sorry im a newbie to the site and forum.. took me ages to find this blue dial watch on the website!

Re: New C9 Sapphire Chrono Released
Still on the fence about this one - combination of the price (nearly £1000 ouch!) and the question of whether the sheer intensity of the blue will make this difficult to wear to work.
Plus the movement looks to be the basic undecorated 7750 (not even a single blued screw in sight) which seems a shame for what is one of CWLs premium models.
Here's some comparative photos to show the difference:
Website pictures of C9 Chrono Sapphire blue movement
Compare the movements in the previous C9 chronos which have got the full works
Even got blued screws and decorated rotor on the relatively basic model in my C40:-

Re: New C9 Sapphire Chrono Released
I doubt that will be the final movement to appear in the C9 Sapphire chrono. More likely to be a hasty correction of the previous error. Hardly worth an exhibition back in that form!

Hope that's the case - and I suppose the photos showed a 2824-2 when they first went up, so maybe its just a gradual evolution towards the true picture!!!robinbarke wrote:I doubt that will be the final movement to appear in the C9 Sapphire chrono. Re: New C9 Sapphire Chrono Released
@schticy; I wouldn't see this as a work watch at all tbh. I'd see it as a smart and unusual smart casual/alternative dress watch.
And that makes it a tricky decision for me. I like the look of it, no question about it, it looks superb. And I have nothing remotely like it. Trouble is, I'm not sure how often I would actually wear it . Possiblly in the winter months when I tend to wear a lot of black clothes.
I'll have a good think about it. The price wouldn't put me off. I think it's fair.
Cheers,
Jack.
