Re: New C1 Moonglow in Celestial Blue
^^^^ Phone torches are rubbish.
You need UV light. Sunshine? LED spotlight?
From my experience of the C1 Moonphase, lume is quite soft. More of a gentle glow than a bright light.

Re: New C1 Moonglow in Celestial Blue
I left it out hoping to get a bit of sunlight. Didn't work but I'll try againBahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 11:58 am ^^^^ Phone torches are rubbish.

Unfortunately I had no glow.. not even a soft glow I was driving back from work today .. 5.30pm and couldn't read the dial as no lume. Don't have an led spotlight but can buy one if that's useful I've circled where it should be
Kind Regards
John

Re: New C1 Moonglow in Celestial Blue
Received yesterday. I'm over the moon over it. Does anyone know if there is a bracelet that will fit this? What the lug width is? I'll be trying bracelets and straps from some of my other CWs.

^^^^ 20mm lugs width; it's stamped on the OE strap '20-ST'.
CW (Staib) mesh bracelet.
The Consort bracelet from the C1 Moonphase and C1 Moonglow Mk2 does NOT fit as the Moonglow LE uses the case from the C1 Moonglow (original).

Thanks, I see it now. Good to know about the case being from the original C1 Moonglow.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 4:09 pm ^^^^ 20mm lugs width; it's stamped on the OE strap '20-ST'.

Re: New C1 Moonglow in Celestial Blue
There must be something seriously wrong here. For example, if I wear my Sealander normally, indoors all day, making no special attempt to charge it, the lume is clearly visible throughout the night. The idea of having to carry a UV torch around with you rather defeats the object!!Maverick_John wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 12:36 pmI left it out hoping to get a bit of sunlight. I agree but I'm not sure if it needs some catalyst to activate the lume process.Engineer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 8:23 pmThere must be something seriously wrong here. I've circled where it should be
But as it is now it's not legible at all in the dark.

Re: New C1 Moonglow in Celestial Blue
Interesting, as mine is totally visible at night although as said more of a soft than bright light. Was pleased and surprised by the date ring's lume.Maverick_John wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 9:24 pmI agree but I'm not sure if it needs some catalyst to activate the lume process.Engineer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 8:23 pmThere must be something seriously wrong here. Re: New C1 Moonglow in Celestial Blue
Ropy pic, but this is mine in a dark place after a quick charge with a UV torch. Mine's usually under a cuff so I can't compare with how it charges in sunlight.
It doesn't glow much out in regular daylight and even once I charged it with the UV torch - I mean, it's not a Seiko diver where you get blue flashes even in a bright room

Re: New C1 Moonglow in Celestial Blue
I messaged the CW team as I'm not getting any lume. Nothing even remotely close to that I wore it out all day again today and still no lume.. daily wear should charge this. It doesn't make sense that it doesn't activate the glow..missF wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 12:36 pm Ropy pic, but this is mine in a dark place after a quick charge with a UV torch. Re: New C1 Moonglow in Celestial Blue
^^^^ yep - see what CW say. I don't know enough about it to comment further. I know there are different types /grades of lume, some brighter than others. What I don't know (and someone else can hopefully clarify) is whether the 'brightness' is dependent on 'how many layers' are applied. Nor do I know how this watch was constructed.
But you're in Australia right - are you getting day and night the right way round or is there a bit of confusion there because you're round the other side of the planet with a ten hour time difference??

A last thought - is there still a sticker on the front of the watch??

Re: New C1 Moonglow in Celestial Blue
I was thinking I'd be foolish if that was the case but I didn't have one on the front.
Now I feel a little better about that

Re: New C1 Moonglow in Celestial Blue
Below is a generally accepted chart for Luminova. Depth of paint and area both play into brightness of the lume. Deeper and larger make for brighter lumes.missF wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 1:29 pm ^^^^ yep - see what CW say. I don't know enough about it to comment further.
