The blue in those pics is MUCH nicer than the blue in the renders. I liked the blue in the renders. I LOVE the blue in real life!

That's my point...what is the actual blue that will be used? Are the renders correct or the blue from the web pictures I posted?

They aren’t different colours though, are they? The render is Morpho blue which looks exactly the same as the Morpho blue standard sealander on their website (also a render?) The IRL photo is of a Morpho blue.nycWATCHnerd wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 7:04 pmThat's my point...what is the actual blue that will be used? The "morpho blue" pics I linked above are real life pictures other people posted of their "morpho blue" watches. Yes, they appear darker than the "morpho blue renders" posted in this thread which also happen to match the stock morpho blue pictures (aka renders) and the CW website.kev017 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 7:51 pmThey aren’t different colours though, are they? That is a very long way of saying the renders seem much lighter/brighter than real life pictures of the same color.

I guess we know the way to be certain, well two ways actually. One: find more owner real-life photos on the 'net. Two: get one ordered and help get this project off the ground.nycWATCHnerd wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 9:41 pmThe "morpho blue" pics I linked above are real life pictures other people posted of their "morpho blue" watches. -Update -
The Atlantis seems to have stalled. The chief instigators are open to rethinking design wants and wishes. Unfortunately that brings the question of design parameters and how to winnow the preferences. Some of you know that headspace.
I’ll update as I can.

I was a little surprised to read that only eleven people had signed up this out of the twenty five minimum needed for a bespoke watch. It’s not like they are only one or two people short.
I’m not sure why but there has been quite a few limited editions coming from the various watch groups recently so perhaps that dilutes the interest.

@thomcat00
Sorry to hear that. It’s a good looking piece and might have been expected to do better, even given the uncertainty over the exact shade.
Also, the groups you advertised it to are relatively small communities of watch enthusiasts: people who, by definition, probably already own a few watches. There has to be a limit to the number of watches you can/want to buy. Well, for some of us anyway.

Speaking for myself, I haven’t bought a watch since 2023. I’ve said for a while now that it would take something pretty special to make me buy another. CW have produced some nice watches (maybe too many, I don’t know) since then, but a lot of them are similar (Twelve/Sealander/BC variants) and nothing to knock me off my chair.

I think timing could be an issue as well. Perhaps a bit close on the heels of the festive season and the January sales?

Re: New bespoke project alert: C63 Atlantis
It's a shame that this has stalled.
Any feeling or feedback for the reason for a low sign-up?
I'm sure there will be many opinions why and concerning the overall design but in case it'll be helpful I'll give my own thoughts/opinions without treading on the originators toes hopefully as I'm sure they have contributed lots of time and thought into this project already.
1. Iain's comment is worthy of note.
2. The price was reasonable for such a distinct design and a bespoke watch but I haven't bought a watch for some time so would have the budget available for the right watch where others might not.
3. The basic design is great and 1 that isn't available from other brands at a price that is affordable or justifiable to many so should remain.
4. The model that it is based on is a great choice for size and style so should remain.
5. The applied and lumed numbers should remain.
6. The dial is a nice colour but IMO this is a divisive design point as the true shade of colour is uncertain in people's mind (see numerous comments in previous responses) and maybe the appetite for such colours has reached a saturation point. Worth considering a different CW blue to retain the project name or even change it to what might be a more popular colour if CW would permit but that might need a change of project name?
7. The strap is a second divisive point as it didn't co-ordinate very well in colour or style.

Re: New bespoke project alert: C63 Atlantis
It is a superb watch - I would have looked at buying it except that I don't want CW Aficianados on the back - sounds too american to me and would diminish the watch...
but design on the front - superb...

Re: New bespoke project alert: C63 Atlantis
I liked much about it and appreciate the effort but the issues that kept me from buying are:
1 - Did not really know the dial color
2 - Rubber strap color does not match
3 - No date dial but ghost position on crown
* Another reason is in 2024 I downsized from about 30 watches, which is too many for me, to about 10 and I am still selling. Something new needs to be really special to get a spot in my now smaller collection.

As a rule of thumb and as a top 10 customer of Sellita, all CW no date watches have the ghost date position removed.nycWATCHnerd wrote:I liked much about it and appreciate the effort but the issues that kept me from buying are:

Did you see is somewhere that a ghost position existed?

In the original post from this thread...
And here: https://watchaficionados.net/c63-atlant ... pher-ward/
And I asked (can't remember if it was via email or PM) and the response was something along the lines of: CW Sealander Production is always with date so they will not change that for a bespoke model even though we are using a no date dial.

Re: New bespoke project alert: C63 Atlantis
^^^I have to say that is pretty lame of CW. The mod is very minor to remove it. Although, I can't say it bothers me much one way or the other. I think it is a case of internet inflation of an issue that really isn't.

It depends on the person. It bothers me but not because the Internet says so but because it is lazy.
