Toyota may not be happy about that choice even if the Avalon has been discontinued.
I'm not entirely sure that a place name of ancient legend, could ever be claimed as owned in any fashion, although Morgan might have something to say about it.
It is trademarked as expected and recently renewed. It was originally trademarked by Avalon Tire Co. in the 1970s but I believe they no longer exist and/or Toyota's corporate lawyers were able to make a case that they should own it as of 1995.

Did Toyota negotiate with Roxy Music who are probably still receiving royalty payments for their iconic Avalon LP and track.

You reference is just making me feel old...though cool because I know and have listened to the reference LP on vinyl when new. I was lucky enough to get WLIR in Manhattan/NYC while gowning up. In about 1982, in moved to playing more "New Wave" artists especially from the UK.

Roxy Music is my second thought associated with Avalon; reading The Mists of Avalon during my high school years is my first. I missed Roxy’s album until the mid-eighties. It was a college years discovery for me, thanks to my now-wife.

Marion Zimmer Bradley. Superb book. One of the first writers to take traditional mythology and invest the female characters with a bit of oomph and pizzazz and, most importantly, a brain. It’s good to see this being done for the great Greek cycles by writers like Pat Barker.

@thomcat00 - just one minor question and I hope I don’t sound too pedantic but is it “Adventure” or “Adventurer”?
The model name is finalized as “Adventure,” though there was discussion for adding the final “r” ultimately deemed too close to the Rolex model name.
The case back design is still being considered.

My personal opinion on naming bespoke projects, is that it personalises a design and limits the appeal, but being closer to 'Explorer' would probably be better if it had to have a name on the dial, plus perhaps the Automatic and/or 150m wording too with a pop of colour for additional interest.
I had another thought too, would the solid case back perhaps increase water resistance? If so, another USP might be an increase WR rating on the dial to denote this. It would further differentiate the watch from the standard C63.

I don't believe that CW would wish to have a C63 Sealander with a greater WR than their regular models of 150m.

With the introduction of the 3-6-9 numbers in place of indices (here and on the original blue version) it makes the double index at the top look like an 11, to my eyes at least. And then I'm left wondering why there is an 11 at the top, not a 12. I think the design would be improved with a different shape index at the top, but perhaps not the triangle used in the Explorer, just to maintain some differentiation from that. Or even a 12 numeral could work?
I'm not trying to be critical, just making a hopefully constructive observation/suggestion.
