Need some help from any C3 Malvern owners!
Hi there, first post on these forums as I've just received a stunning new C3 Malvern mkII from my girlfriend for our anniversary. Absolutely chuffed to bits as you can imagine but I've never really had a serious watch before and have a couple questions.
Firstly, am I right in thinking that the watch is manual and requires winding once a day? How do I do this?
Secondly (urgh, just realised that's about to be an awful pun), I notice that seconds are measured by the small dial furthest on the right, and the regular 'second' hand stays still bang on 12. Does this become active in chronograph mode?
Thanks everyone in advance for any advice and apologies if these also happen to be the two dumbest questions ever posed to a collection of watch enthusiasts!

Hello and welcome!
No need to panic...
The C3 is a quartz chronograph operated by a battery and will not need winding, just a new battery every few years.
Yes, indeed the centre seconds hand operates when you press the top button to start the chronograph. I really would recommend reading the instructions carefully.

Welcome to the forum, Alun. You're going to love that C3, I'm sure.

Welcome.
AVO's correct in what he says and enjoy your new watch.
Read the manual? I'm sure you have far better things to do today, notably to thank you girlfriend for such a wonderful present!
Hope you stick around and enjoy the chat on the forum.

Have you decided which one you want next? You've started with a disease for which there is no cure! I buy my 'last ever watch' about once per year.

Welcome and she made a fantastic choice...the C3 is a brilliant watch, and a looker.
Small collection of timepieces that I enjoy

Thanks everyone for the welcome and the help with my questions! Had a good read of the manual last night and much more comfortable with the chronograph functions now! Absolutely adore the watch - honestly not sure which model I would go for next...at the moment totally in love with the design of the C3 (the Aston references did it for me). Although I could use something that would stand up to a bit if swimming. Hmmm...!

C3 is a lovely watch. I bought my son one for his birthday last year. Just remember to screw the crown down properly if you have to reset the time come the autumn.

I don't think it has a screw-down crown. Or if it does I certainly haven't noticed it on my one.theaub wrote:C3 is a lovely watch. I bought my son one for his birthday last year. Just remember to screw the crown down properly if you have to reset the time come the autumn.

I've just made the same purchase! Was drawn to CW when I saw my friends C4 Peregrine (which is on my list, need my 30 posts first though!).
Really happy with the C3, can see the Aston Martin styling shining through. Looks great with a suit and a smaller wrist like mine.

I just had a look and couldn't see it on there? Am I being a bit thick?
