I like "SuperRaptor" mentioned in the other thread but for very simple names that maintain the "peregrine" theme, why not just "Falcon" or "Talon" - or maybe "Predator"...?

Re: Name that C40 Contest
Sounds too much like the souped up Shelby GT500 Supersnake............saw, and listened to one recently, all 600 odd BHP of it.....now that's a beast, and as good as the CW watch may be, not sure it's gonna be quite in the same league?!!Aesculapius wrote:I like "SuperRaptor" "...?
If the C40 is based on the C4 'Peregrine' , which is the fastest bird, then to my mind, the C40, being a kind of souped up C4 with the 7750, should follow the same line and go up in the 'Bird ranks' so to speak!!
I quite like photography and go with friends to places where they fly hawks, Kestrels etc to get some pics, and as great as the hawks etc were, the most impressive sight we saw was an American bald Eagle soaring through the air!!
Now the CW C40 Bald Eagle may not have the best ring to it, but you get the idea, so how bout something like the C40 Eagle or Golden Eagle???? or even just have it 'Peregrine Plus or Super Peregrine'??
Just a thought, as there seems to lots of aeroplane and reptile style names floating about!!

Here's another historic Brit aviation sugestion: Delta 2.
It comes from the Fairey Delta 2, a British supersonic research plane from the early 1950s which pioneered the use of delta wings and the so-called droop-snoot...both later found on Concorde. It held an air speed record at one stage. The wing design was part of the inspiration for the French Mirage fighter.
Real piece of aviation history. As ever with British innovation, it has never been properly recognised.

As there are other 'Aviator' watches in the CW range, and the C40 is sort of an upgrade on the C4 'Peregrine', I think we should stick with the Bird theme, as I mentioned above, and come up with a suitable name on that line!!
Just my thoughts

Re: Name that C40 Contest
Sorry, but CW himself suggested the name Speedhawk first.

Yep, pretty sure that's the one Chris said was his favourite during the Chat tonight.

Hmm. Forgive me for being churlish (just jealous I was on duty during the chat!), but isn't that just a bit Citizen?
