FOUND!! Mysterious missing C8 Mk1

Post by RichM »

So, I last wore my mkI 2010 C8 at work on Saturday 28th December finishing work at about 11pm and then cycling the 1 mile journey home.

I'm preparing for work tomorrow and can't find my C8 :(

I've looked everywhere now and can only conclude I lost it at work or it fell off when I cycled home and didn't realise at the time although I normally would have taken it off when I got in and don't remember anything out of the ordinary.

It's not been stolen, we've not been burgled and I'm at a loss at to where it is. I feel bereft.

Fingers crossed it will turn up soon! Wish me luck!

EDIT: It was late when I got in and went to bed about 00.30 after a beer and with the children's schedules messed up what with the Christmas hols excitement and all, my 6yo was asleep with my wife in our bed so I ended up in the 6yo's bed and had put the C8 on a shelf on a bookcase in his room! My 9yo remembered seeing it there and went to get it for me when I was fretting as to its whereabouts! Maaan, I'm alot calmer now!

Haha, I feel your pain. I have a 4 and a 5 year old, we unfortunately play musical beds too often. Glad you found it!

You'll reach an age, I don't think you're there yet, when you routinely put things down and forget where. I spend a fair part of my waking hours helping someone to replay their steps and find the spectacles, the nail clippers, the mobile phone, the charger lead for the tablet.

It's easily done.
I am very forgetful nowadays. I think there's a thing where you leave a room to do something and immediately forget what you intended to do. I can't find what it's called. It's not short term memory loss though.

This is it. Doorway effect. It gets me often. I go into a different room to get/do something, and instantly forget what I was going to do ;D

Whenever my daughter looks for something but can’t find it until my wife helps, it’s known as having a dad look.

A dad look isn’t as thorough as a mum look so things I don’t find, her mum will.

Next time it goes missing, get your wife to help and it will turn up within minutes.
