I removed the strap to try and clean it. It's a stain in my stainless though, not a scratch from swapping straps.

Of couse
OK. Gotta ask.

So what have you tried wiping with so far? I ask because I have progressively effective techniques.
Just microfiber cloth and elbow grease so far. I found an official "cleaning your watch" video from CW recommending warm water and dish soap, so I'll try that today.
I do plan on keeping my watch so I'd prefer to get it clean. Any and all suggestions are welcome!!

I would think carefully before you try to remove it, as doing that might affect your ability to return it.
Assuming you didn't pay full price then maybe that small mark is acceptable. Anything you buy tends to show signs of wear over time, and I'm sure you notice this mark more than other people would.

Can you show us a normal sized wrist picture. That would help perhaps.

I wouldn’t worry about it - if you wear the watch and don’t just sit looking at it then it’s gonna pick up worse than that in weeks. Stick the strap back on, wear it and enjoy it would be my advice.

I understand you frustration especially as it was supposed to be new. I'm not sure what you paid but I guess it was in the sale, but more than a NN maybe. Hopefully CW might respond with something positive.

You are bound to make a few more marks even when treating it ultra carefully so I'm sure that you will forget about it in no time. If you don't think you will, don't mess about cleaning it and send it back (preparing the lawyers for the legal case if they try and charge you, ha). The fact that you have explained that it did not seem new might cover any other marks they spot if you sent it back anyway.

Thanks for the positive vibes everyone!
I'm super happy to report that after spending the entire day with a microfiber cloth in hand I have managed to get the spot mostly gone!
I never wanted to, or intend on sending it back. It was just on the off chance that something major goes wrong within the initial warranty period and I get dinged 30% for a mark that was already there.
Anyway, I know where it is and I have trouble seeing it with a magnifying loop, so crisis adverted.

I agree... It is stunning, I absolutely love it !
All the reviews I've watched say it's a push/pull crown, but I got a screw down version. Happy all around now!
