My new C60 Sapphire is better than my Breitling, Rolex and Omegas
My new C60 Sapphire is better than my Breitling, Rolex and Omegas
I wanted to express my appreciation for the exceptional quality of the C60 Sapphire which I received a week ago. As a long-time mechanical watch enthusiast, I also have a Breitling SuperOcean, Rolex Submariner, Omega Seamaster METAS Master Chronometer and Speedmaster Moonphase METAS Master Chronometer, and Grand Seiko Spring Drive Diver. The C60 Sapphire easily compares in quality with these much more expensive watches. In fact, it is astonishingly more accurate than all my other mechanical watches with the exception of the Grand Seiko (not a fair comparison since it uses a quartz crystal to control the mainspring.) Ironically - while my C60 is not COSC certified - its’ accuracy of 1-2 sec/day exceeds the accuracy of my certified chronometers and master chronometers.
CW offers world-class, outstanding quality at hard-to-believe prices. The C60 is elegant, beautiful and the most comfortable watch to wear, that I own. Its depth rating of 600m is twice that of my Submariner. The C60 Sapphire is rapidly becoming my favorite watch. Thank you, CW. (I hope you offer another Skeleton something similar to your previous C60 Concept in the near future.)

I like to hear testimonials as these. I too find the CW's to be of equal allure to my more expensive watches. This is why I've ended up with 4 of them so far.
On google'ing, since it's been discontinued, it seems, I see that the Sapphire has a beautiful dial.

Wow. Shocked to see it’s no longer available. Here is the release video from CW ….

I know what you are saying. When my bronze trident pro 300 showed up I was shocked at how nice it was. My buddy who collects Rolex and tudors told me to bring it over.
I noticed after he handled it he kept looking at his explorer 2 and his black bay pro with a look of wtf. Even when I compared them the Tudor especially looked like an unrefined watch compared. Rolex are not for me so I have not ever looked at them with awe. ( not bashing the brand they are by far some of the best at marketing. )

I think you're right that it's in the comparison with other watches that you get an idea of the quality of CW watches. At one point because of timing and this and that I ended up receiving the CW atoll shark white at the same time as another white dial watch (German brand, long history, massive watchie heritage) - both almost exactly the same price. I'm a big fan of the lightcatcher case anyway but pretty much everything about the quality of the CW beat the other hands down.
I'm delighted that you're enjoying your sapphire so much @apologist - it's one of those watches I really love so I'm not entirely sure why I've never owned one

I do not think the C60 Sapphire has been discontinued. I think it is now in transition to the V4 logo along with the C60 Colchester. I suspect that it will be reappearing soon.

Hi, I’ve had my C60 Sapphire for for about 7 months now and it is a fantastic watch. The dial is sublime, my orange dial changes colour from light to deep orange depending on lighting, I never get tired of looking at it. I noticed the blue version has gone from CW website, there are a few orange, blue on ebay. On the bader bracelet it looks class, gonna get the CW orange rubber for summer.

Your right, that coloured piece of plastic inside really elevates it above the top marque brands you mention.
Current collection = Omega Seamaster 2225.80.00, Omega Speedmaster 'Moonphase' 3576.50.00, Breitling Aerospace Evo, Vintage Azur, Vintage Seiko Sprtsman, Grand Seiko SBGX059, Omega SMP NTTD 210.92.42.20.01.001, Casioak Milkyway, Casioak Tiffany Sky.

Your disagreement with the OP is clear, but for the sake of accuracy it's actually a layer of blue sapphire and not plastic.

I’m 99% sure the color comes from a blue transparent polycarbonate disk underneath the clear sapphire dial. He’s technically right that it’s plastic but he’s missing the point.audio.bill wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 9:36 pmYour disagreement with the OP is clear, but for the sake of accuracy it's actually a layer of blue sapphire and not plastic.
Regardless of how they got there, the watch is stunning and very high quality. I’m not sure I’d say better than my Tudor or Omegas, but it’s very close and the value for money far outstrips the more expensive watches IMO.

I think you are right except for the black one. That one was all smoked sapphire if I remember correctly.ajax87 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 10:05 pmI’m 99% sure the color comes from a blue transparent polycarbonate disk underneath the clear sapphire dial. More importantly - the C60 keeps better time than my much more expensive watches (with the exception of the Grand Seiko). I’m retired now and have collected watches for decades. While I treasure all my watches, the CW is a breath of fresh air.
