My First Grail Watch, by Christopher Ward

Post by cholmes »

Sorry if this was posted already, I couldn't find it if it was. Yesterday's ABlogToWatch had a quick little interview of CW about his first grail watch. Kind of interesting.

Thanks Cholmes :D

Chris has spoken about his fondness (to put it mildly) for Russell and Liverpudlian watchmaking before.

What has surprised me is that he never produced an automatic C1 :?

Thanks for the link, it's very interesting.

Robin, the C1 was just a quartz model? When i came to know CWL this model was not available anymore....maybe a ltd automatic edition someday?

And since his 1st grail was a pocket watch maybe theres hope for the ones here that collect them....market seems a little weak nowadays but again, maybe a ltd edition pocket watch?

Maybe a pocket mechanical C1? 2 birds with 1 stone...or maybe i'm just crazy...

Thanks again.
Cheers,
Sifion.

Yes - only quartz - a Ronda 1014 movement IIRC

Some cracking pics by Androo and Ianblyth here - http://www.christopherwardforum.com/vie ... c1#p109546

A Limited Edition Auto would be very nice :D

I like how Christopher Ward seems to actually care about his watches. He genuinely seems to enjoy his work, which makes it all the better for us consumers :)

Didn't know he was a scouser! Presumably he means football.
