I really quite like it. It appeals to me much more than supposedly serious art on watches like the My Dog Sighs stuff.

But I concluded a while back that moonphases aren't for me, so I will save my pennies. It will be interesting to see if there will be other CW x MJW collaborations in the future.

They could do another Everton themed watch. It could have a retrograde date hand that moves down the dial as the football season progresses to match Everton’s league form.

Way too expensive for such a niche, almost gimmicky product. You’re better off buying MrJ’s regular watches at the price they should be. And don’t start with the ‘but I don’t like their lugs’ complaints—you’ll be saving £1500-£1800, so just enjoy the fun piece for what it is and be happy.
I was very close to buying the "A Perfectly Useless Afternoon" watch last year. But I didn't like the lugs.
Would you really pay over £2K just to have your kid’s art school project on your wrist—just because it has better lugs now?

When you buy a Mr.J watch, you're buying it for the dial. Either you like the quirky, artsy-fartsy aesthetic, or you don’t. And let’s be real—this isn’t an everyday watch. Most people get it for the fun factor, like a cool magic trick on your wrist. So why pay £2K when you can get essentially the same thing for £200-£500, just with slightly different lugs or case? It’s not the case, the movement, or the lugs you’ll be looking at—it’s the artsy (some may say gimmicky) party-trick dial. Save your money and have way more fun instead.

This collab should've been on one of CW`s cheaper cases in my opinion to capture interest both from CW`s clients and not to alinement lot of Mr.J`s clients either.

I feel you're overlooking the fact that it is, mechanically, a CW C1 Moonphase and is thus priced accordingly.

That’s why I think this was a bad collab decision—it shouldn’t have been a C1 Moonphase. That watch is too expensive to slap a gimmicky dial on. They should’ve used one of their more affordable cases&movements instead.

If you want a mechanical magic trick on your wrist, there are way cheaper options in Mr.J’s lineup—most of their mechanical pieces are in the £500-£700 range, which is a much better deal. And with a watch like this, the main attraction is the dial, not the case nor the movement. It’s a fun, occasional-wear piece, so over £2K feels excessive. People pay that for the Moonphase because of its elegance—that’s a truly artistic watch.

I'm not a clever marketing type so can't imagine who this is aimed at. I also can't understand who would pay more than fifty quid for it . But It certainly takes prime spot in CW's most difficult to read category though.

I love it and think it's cute. Plus it's a great size for me at 37mm.

But I don't love the price.

Well said.
I'm also a bit frustrated they have made this made available immediately yet my celestial blue preorder that was due 2 weeks ago has been delayed.
But that c1 moonglow is a true work of art and elegant. This watch on the other hand has no practical use in any situation. Ok some people might find it a fun watch but it's just too tacky in any real world use situations.
In saying that my dress style is very conservative.
Kind Regards
John

I quite like it. It's something unique and eye-catching, but it's expensive and I'd ultimately struggle to tell the time on it.

It's quite limited as well so I wonder how fast they'll go (or not) :D .

I do agree with this. Is this was around £500 it might have been more appealing, but I'm guessing it's more complicated being a moonphase and it does look nicer than their other watches.

Well, that's it exactly isn't it?

I like some of Mr Jones watches, and recently bought my first one - there will be more. I understand that they don't appeal to everyone, but then what does?

Yes it's a lot to pay for a "novelty watch" (and no, I won't be buying one) but then I thought that about the "Mission to Maidenhead" and people seemed to like that one.

I kinda like it! Not a buyer but it's a neat concept and the graphics and colors look great. For a collector with many pieces I think this would be interesting to own.
