This may have been a common watch in the day, but the engraving means it’s quite unique. The factory was in Chester (Cheshire, UK) and closed in the mid 1960's. It belonged to my Great Grandad and my Dad gave it to me early on in my watch collecting journey. I often think about getting it restored, although it’s current condition has a certain charm. And it runs well! Too small to wear for anything other than the occasional family gathering, but a lovely watch nonetheless.

I’ll submit a pair of Pinions. The first, acquired from Sales Corner is a standard Axis II, but with a refinished polished case rather than the standard brushed, believed in this configuration to be a one-off.

The second is a 1/2 prototype Atom ND (the other also owned by a forum member). It’s titanium cased, and neither that element nor the red dial made it to production. The production model was supposed to be identical to this one but with injection moulded numerals and indices. Covid lockdowns necessitated a change of manufacturer, and changes to the design and the final production model differs in that it has no chapter ring but slightly different markings and second hand.

^That white dial Pinion is lovely, especially with the polished case.

This watch was made in a now defunct soviet factory, to mark an expedition to the soviet Vostok base in the middle of nowhere, Antarctica. I’ve no idea how many would have been made, but I’m pretty certain it’s unique on the forum! :D

I had to search for this in the back of a cupboard. It doesn’t work any more and the cost of a service would probably be far in excess of the cost of the watch. :(

The Willard I built a few months ago is easily the unique watch in my collection. All my other watches are not unique in any way.

Hi
I have an old Omega Seamaster gold face with day and date display. but the magnifying section of the glass is on the inside so there is no bevel on the outer surface. probably from the early seventies but not sure?

I won't let that bother me, Rich.

The slim bezel and large dial make up for it.

Unique for me?

I used to have a one off colourway C60 Trident Mk2 Chronograph, but that's now with another forum member.

I've got my C60 Abyss SH21 'Deep Dark' which is unique in having a darker smoke to the dial and case back.

Truly unique? Probably my C60 Trident Elite 1000 Prototype with a 'breather' small seconds. Definitely a one off.

HMT white pilot, a special edition handwind and was very affordable (<$50 I think).

I really like that, it has a real 'Tintin' quality to it. Think I'd have to make enquiries as to what it might cost to get running if it were mine. :D

Well, it’s a meaningful watch from my previous life, so maybe I should get it going again :D
