I posted earlier today about the 36mm yellow C63 Sealander in the "dreaming about" thread. It wasn't obvious to me at first, but this and the other colors are such an attractive alternative to the Rolex Datejust. For less than a $1,000 bucks on a bracelet. Yes, please!
I know a lot of other watch companies are doing their own takes of the rainbow line up of Datejusts like Sinn and Oris, but I gotta say that CW's are definitely the most compelling I've seen so far, biases aside. I think a lot of it is because of the case design.

I’ve long felt watches were ripe for more colors and welcomed the variety in dials. The Sealander seems just the right platform for CW to pursue a spectrum of color options. I half wonder if there won’t be annual releases of LEs with a unique color palette.

I think that sounds like a great idea. Or rather than offering LEs limited by a hard number, offer colors for a limited run - available for 12 months or so, let’s say then the run ends.

Yes, the dial is great but it has to battle for attention with the lightcatcher case. I find myself gazing at the case lines side-on almost as much as the dial.

I agree about the light catcher case; I have a couple different sizes of it and it is worlds better of a design over the slab sided cases.
You know what’s funny? I wish my C63 had the case from my Mk1 C65 Trident Vintage. It’s a slab sided case with polished, chamfered edges that hint at the light catcher case to come. I think the slap sided case is more in line with the tool watch nature of a GODO watch like the C63.
In the same spirit, I think the more retro inspired aesthetic of my Mk1 C65 TV would look even better with a light catcher case!

So after a couple of days, I'm still not able to shake the 36mm yellow version from my mind. The reasons to get one keep mounting.
1. Yellow!
2. Sealander!
3. Seems like a really great alternative for the Rolex Datejust / OP yellow for about 5% of the price.
4. I'd like to know if I can get on with a 36mm watch. I suspect that it'd be rather easy, but I'm not sure.
5. I've gone progressively upmarket with my tastes over the last few years, and I'd like to hope that I can still honestly love a watch in this price bracket. Again, I suspect that it will be easy, particularly given my recent experience handling the white Sealander automatic.
6. I do have that Loupe coupon available to me of course.
7. Limited Edition.
8. Did I mention Yellow!? and Sealander!?
I imagine if I get one, it'll come down to a decision about keeping it or my recently-acquired C65 Super Compressor.
Come on, someone talk me out of it.

All I can say is that I love my yellow C63. I haven't always gelled with yellow dials, but this one does seem quite fun, whilst also being a high quality watch, certainly for its price point.
