Moonphase Mission to Maidenhead

Post by kev017 »

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I haven’t seen it.

New C1 Moonphase for the upcoming British Watchmakers Day

The name is a good nod to the MoonSwatches. Not sure what I think about this one. Would like to see in real life.

Source is this article:

I’m sure it contains some leaks. I haven’t seen the Farer listed pictured elsewhere before either.

Very fun. It could have almost been the Mr Jones collaboration had the astronaut been circling as one of the hands.

Do we know any more about this? Is it the 37 or the 40? Number of pieces? Price? I've not seen any details anywhere.

I have my ticket to the show and i'm somewhat tempted...

Seen quite the gamut of Watchmakers Day editions and this is one of the better ones imo, though not the best.

Love this! Definitely a case of jumping the gun on release announcements I think...

Could this also be known as the “Tim Peake” Moonphase as he is the only British person to have undertaken a spacewalk, as it does appear more like an astronaut floating in space as opposed to ‘planting a Union Jack on the surface of the moon’?

You could say when the moon is at the top of phase, it's peak time.....

I love the look of it. 25 pieces in total apparently.

I am told (Via Andrew Morgan) that these will be £2,395 on strap or £2,530 on bracelet but limited to just 25 pieces at British Watchmakers Day. Not sure on the size.

Just got back from British Watchmakers Day. Another really enjoyable day.

The Mission to Maidenhead looked lovely in the flesh, but just not for me.

Other CW highlights from my perspective:
- the new Sapphire Edge looked great but thankfully (for my wallet) was too big for my wrist
- I tried a Lumiere on for the first time and really loved it
- the Bel Canto Dragonfly (showroom and show special) might just have pipped the Viola as my favourite colour BC
- I saw a Twelve X in the flesh for the first time and was blown away by the quality

Non CW highlights:
- some lovely watches on the Pinion stand, including the purple show special
- seeing some Fears in real life
- most things on the Scofield stand
- just generally the buzz of the place.
