I was far enough back in the queue on Saturday morning that I was certain all the good stuff would have been snapped up before I’d even arrived at the door, but it seems everyone was set on a Gimlet. Even so, it was a bit of a surprise to be the second buyer and land serial #02.

Initial impressions: I like it. I really like it. But I don’t (yet) love it. The Union Jack is subtly done; it’s really only apparent in bright light, the rest of the time it’s more like a watermark. The astronaut is a nice detail that doesn’t dominate and the red seconds hand nicely compliments the Union Jack. Likewise, the strap also compliments the watch well. I like the taper, although the clasp could do with slimming down.
