It can be done, but it's entirely possible that with slight clearance differences between individual watches it could be a one-way mod!JAG wrote:As its a quarts C6 orange would it take a lot to pop it into a charcoal bezeled trident case just wondering how difficult it would be ?
It's actually very easy to do, less so to undo. Be warned!
Good to no as if the C6 bead blasted case gets a scratch or a ding i can re-case it into a trident case but it would have to have a grey bezel, I would take to my local watch repairer to get him to re-case it i am no good with things like that lol But cheers for the heads up with tight fitting problem

Nice, but it would look even better with the CW PVD black and silver C6 bracelet to match the bezel.

I actually quite like that! I had a Stuhrling Yellow diver in my early watch days that I bought just for that pop of the yellow dial.
Small collection of timepieces that I enjoy

I quite like it. Pardon my ignorance here, but aren't the cases exactly the same for the C6 and C60. Wouldn't it be easier to polish the Kingfisher case and swap the bezel?

Not sure bezels are removable as i asked for a different bezel before a gmt burnt orange to go on a normal trident wera said bezels cant be replaced. not sure if i remember that 100% correct though but easier to re-case by the sounds of it

Also, once polished, it's hard to go back to the same bead blasted finish if you change your mind.JAG wrote:Lavaine wrote:I quite like it. Pardon my ignorance here, but aren't the cases exactly the same for the C6 and C60. Wouldn't it be easier to polish the Kingfisher case and swap the bezel?

I recall asking the same question of Wera and getting a similar answer, it would seem the C6 and C60 bezels are not interchangeable. the crystals are different (curved vs flat respectively) - it may have something to do with that...

it took me a loooong time to get to like the C6, but i got there eventually!
i like this though - bold move and a bold new watch.
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Forgive me if this is a silly question but could you do that, buy a ETA movement and put it into a C6 without changing any thing else?andyg wrote:Honestly, I prefer the original.
But i do have a Blue C6 lying around that could do with going automatic.....

Re: Modding my C6 (or is it a C60?)
You'd need a movement ring and different clamps. Maybe different gaskets too. Probably have to bend the second hand because of the curved crystal.kiter65 wrote:Forgive me if this is a silly question but could you do that, buy a ETA movement and put it into a C6 without changing any thing else?andyg wrote:Honestly, I prefer the original.

I reckon I'll need to buy a C60 and have a look. I have a spare 2824-2 and the Seagull model as well, so movements are not my issue.
Would I incur the wrath of C6 FLE owners though?

Re: Modding my C6 (or is it a C60?)
As I understand it, the C6 FLE autos and the C60 Kingfisher autos have different case backs to accommodate the thicker movement. Date window positioning is sometimes a problem when switching between movements as well... not sure if there was a dial change needed for that or not.kiter65 wrote:Forgive me if this is a silly question but could you do that, buy a ETA movement and put it into a C6 without changing any thing else?andyg wrote:Honestly, I prefer the original.

Re: Modding my C6 (or is it a C60?)
I really like the Kingfisher and wouldn't swap mine with its blue dial for anything. What have you done to its yellow sibling...put it's innards back! Actually it doesn't look bad in the trident case but i do prefer the original by some margin.

Actually quite like that. I think the C60 would look great with a white dial and black bezel as well.
