Misaligned?

Post by Tonywalker »

I have often toyed with buying the 60 Anthropocene.

However, when I view the images of the dial, the 6-o-clock marker looks to be mis-aligned with the date window.

Somebody else mentioned the same on an article I googled and it got me looking.

Can owners offer their feedback please?

Sorry if I've highlighted something you haven't noticed before.

Thanks
Tony

So you're suggesting that on the basis of online imagery alone, you've clocked a misalignment which no owner/wearer of the actual watch has never noticed? Do you consider that likely? :problem:

Tikkathree - I am assuming it's not the case in reality, but another article I read mentioned it and when I've looked at images online subsequently, I can't make my mind up whether I am just imagining it, having read the article, or if it is the case.

Hoping some owners can put my mind at ease?

Happy with my other CWs. Likely just somebody has a one-off bad dial or is inspecting with a loupe.

Anyway, without the benefit of having one in front of me to inspect, having read the article I did, and believing one of the purposes of the forum is to share thoughts on CW watches, I just thought I'd put it out there for feedback.

Tony, take a look at the Reference Gallery pictures posted by Thomas (@Kalli64)

Taken from an angle it does look misaligned, but it appears to be a parallax error induced by the fact that the date window is flat to the dial whereas the index is both significantly raised and truncated. The head-on shots appear to show it perfectly in line.

Thank you Amor.

That make sense and I appreciate your informed response. I have struggled to find a direct, flat on image. Your explanation has put my mind at ease - I found it hard to believe they'd all be misaligned, but when somebody plants a seed.....

I bought one of these last week, really good looking watch and the 6 o'clock marker is perfectly aligned, unfortunately the GMT hand is mis-aligned though, which is a shame. I guess these things can happen and I'll return it to be adjusted.

Welcome aboard.

Sorry to hear the GMT hand is a bit out; how long has it been running for?

It can take a few hours for the GMT setting to settle in initially. Try resetting it, and letting it run for three to four hours; it may self correct.

Don't ask me how or why, I just know from past experience.
