Agreed Matt.

You probably had to be there to appreciate it though.

In my book that just wasn't the case sat at home watching.

Glad you enjoyed it and kudos for asking your three questions. Much impressed. I realised that it was you at the time, MMU and all that.

The new style bracelet, with wider centre links looks good. I wonder whether both Diver and GMT will be available in all three sizes from launch?

Thanks.

Would have thought that the 40mm in blue would do well. Black only seems a bit restrictive.

The blue dial and bezel on all the models looks amazing. With the splash of orange on the elite model it really had a touch of a planet Ocean look and feel, even down to the ceramic bezel, arrow hand, titanium case etc.

So, basically, it’s got rid of the Trident DNA in order to try and copy something else?

I liked it a lot but you could say it was a touch on the homage side. Flat crystal though compared to the PO domed crystal.

The pictures of the full watch were posted by a member though and not the admin/mod team. I understand you have to follow the embargo because you agreed to that but others do not. But your agreement to the embargo by not posting full pictures appears to apply to the entire forum and all members.

But it doesn't really matter anymore because we can piece the parts together and the pictures are still out there on the interwebs.
The one who posted the the photos was unaware of the restrictions so the photos were deleted, as were some unauthorized photos a couple weeks ago.

I don't care if we, or anyone, can put the parts together or that the photos may still be out there somewhere. What matters to me is that we made an agreement with CW in exchange for a preview of a sample that they allowed us to give away to a member.

My conscience tells me to respect and honor that agreement in full, and that is what we are doing, regardless of any opinion I. or any Admin Team member may hold. If we choose to ignore the agreement we may not be provided similar future opportunities. I have no intention of potentially denying members an opportunity for future previews or a chance at a free watch.

Although the Elite has some similar colouring to a specific Planet Ocean model, the C60 still looks and feels like a C60, and has some common DNA with the C65. It's its own watch, not an homage.

I really enjoyed the event today (yesterday now!), as I did the Edinburgh one. The Mk3s look excellent in the metal. Any concerns from photos or reading specs were eradicated in my mind. They are very high quality watches, especially for the price, with a coherent and individual design.

It was interesting to compare them side by side with the C65s, which showed that the C65 black dials are much less black in intensity than the C60 black dials. This seems mostly due to C65 being matte and C60 being gloss, along with the impact of the box crystal. Combined with not being very taken by the vintage lume, I much preferred the new C60s, which I was a little surprised by. I might still get a Khaki C65 though if they clear them in a sale at some point. :)

Finally, both the new QR steel bracelets and the new rubber/cordura straps are top notch. Very impressive.

Gotta agree that the CW Bracelets and straps are up there with the best and tremendous value for money.

To me, it looks the weird lovechild of a PO and a Seiko Monster. PO dial, Monster handset.

A tad more subtle than the Monster as I recall, Nick!

Having handled some of the new Tridents back in November, they are lovely watches and represent a step forward in many ways.

But I don't see myself getting one for two reasons:

1. I already have a C60 600 GMT and a C65 Trident diver so any purchase would simply be filling the same niches.

2. I prefer the C65 divers; they are more "me". I had thought of selling my two off to get a single travel watch, but it would be the C65 GMT.

You put it far more eloquently that me as per ever Steve! Image

It is the handset that reminds of the monster, as opposed to anything else.

My biggest issue is the size. Too small for me, so the look is somewhat irrelevant as I will not be a purchaser.

I have no doubt that the quality is a step up and have also learned that CWs need to be handled to really appreciate the quality. Anyone who dismisses them from just a photo could well be missing out on a cracker.

I appreciate what you are saying Kip regarding the commitment made to CW and the embargo and wanting to continue to receive promotions etc

The reality is this forum should be the go to place for all the latest news, pics, stats and useful information etc By moderating pictures taken at a formal CW event where it appears no request was made to keep any details under wraps until May 1st simply means people will post elsewhere and it seems this is no longer the "go to" place for Christopher Ward watches.

It's been obvious to regular posters that the forum isn't anywhere near as popular or active as it once was and you are pushing people to other platforms and forums. Approx page views/visits to this forum in Oct '18 110,000 and last month 70,000. In Feb '19 it was just 45,000. I do appreciate web statistics/data can be unreliable but it backs up general lack of activity on the site which I and others have witnessed first hand. Source: https://www.similarweb.com/website/chri ... dforum.com

I have no personal issues with you, or the other Mods and I appreciate the work you all do, and can see you have relaxed moderation in the last few months, but in my opinion this website operates as if you have a monopoly on everything Christopher Ward and have no online competition.

If CW wish to send out models for review, then they need to and most probably do accept some articles will be leaked and that's part of the game. A picture removed from this website, will be posted on another and is purely a click away and you've lost that visitor and potential for discussion! I'm sure CW view any leak as publicity and if they don't like it, don't send out models or hold any events until the product has been launched.
