Wow, that’s disappointing to hear.
Surely if it was in spec then CW should have said it didn’t need a repair. By carrying one out aren’t they admitting it did need fixing?
You might want to share your disappointment with CW management directly and maybe point them to this thread for reference. You might be successful in getting a refund.
Lympstone Bezel Misaligned

Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.
Re: Lympstone Bezel Misaligned
Very poor indeed. A complete lack of common sense. An email to Mike France will hopefully do the trick.

Re: Lympstone Bezel Misaligned
I have sympathy for CW but not for the reason given.
Not sure of the date it was first bought, but this needed raising by the first owner when they received it and it should have been fixed then.
CW can't be expected to pick up a free of charge repair later down the line when another person takes ownership. The flaw unlikely developed after purchase so is not a warranty issue, it is a sales one and could have been returned.
However unlikely something could have happened with the bezel with the first owner but nobody truly knows this.
It would be good if CW did fix it for free but it is not surprising that they won't unfortunately but the reasoning given is stupid.

Re: Lympstone Bezel Misaligned
I can't really blame CW for not accepting responsibility for a watch that may have passed through a few hands, but to say that it is "within spec". Wow.
That doesn't exactly inspire confidence does it?

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

Put to the wheel is a dastardly old style punishment.tikkathree wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 9:20 amFrom you photo it almost looks like the bezel is of two-part construction, rather like a wooden cartwheel: the part with the flat numbered part and then a ring of blocks on the outside?timepieces_and_bags wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 11:47 pm Numbers are aligned with the bezel ‘peaks’ on mine (late 2023 purchase).

Or maybe it's just a styling thing with a distinct line separating the top from the sides?
Or taken away in the tumbrels (or tumbrils - I think both spellings work)
Maybe a little severe for a misaligned bezel, What do you think?
