I did not know that Bill Grundy, as reported in the CW magazine as "all sideburns, big collars and sneering, look-at-me- I'm- off-the-telly attitude" was a relentless drinker.

That must have been heartbreaking for his wife, four sons and two daughters.

Personally I liked his style, this taken from an Obituary;

On one occasion Grundy was interviewing Mickey Rooney and giving the aged Hollywood star a tough time on his marital record. 'Oh come on, Bill,' Rooney said, 'you and I go back a long way . . .' 'Cobblers,' Grundy replied, 'we only met in The Green Room 10 minutes ago.'

FFS, where do they find these copywriters?

LOL - although the centre justified logo at 12 is streets ahead of the left justified at 9 variant IMHO

Both of the Slimlines are on the site now.

If CW are going to continue with the 9 o clock infant school boy errors then at least balance the dial via moving the 'slimline' text to 3 o'clock
I miss all the great things that may never be.

Indeed, increase the text size & move it to 3 o'clock, would at least minimise the damage

Any insight into the logo on the crown? To me, it looks like it belongs on a game console rather than a watch

I am trying soooooooooo hard to like the new logo and positioning. Unfortunately, it is just awful, awful and awful. I am glad I am not the only one to feel this way.

No one else has said it, so I will - they've lost a customer. The square slimline was on my "Buy" list, but not any more :(

I am so glad that my wife has just bought me a square slimline in the sale (old logo and £120 off) - just need to wait till my birthday to get it.

Have you thought of asking Wera if she has any left down the back of her sofa ?

Actually, the magazine isn't bad. There is some interesting stuff in there. I'm just a bit disappointed that we didn't get Beard Maintenance 2. Thought it might be a regular feature. Shame.

Do any of you connected folks have more info on C1 collection? Sneak preview has teased me as intended...

Other than the drawings and photos posted here, we don't know much other than the first one, the Power Reserve, will be first shown at Salon QP in November.

I will be doing my best to get some pre release photos as early as possible.

I may have missed it, but is there a reason they decided to re-use the C1 model name? The original is such a sought after classic that it seems odd to basically overwrite it with a completely new model (other than small dial, I don't see anything similar to the original)

Interesting that they still haven't shown the Trident, the flagship, with the new logo.
