The bronze Aquitaine looked positively stunning in that video. And the blue Aquitaine on the bracelet might have changed my mind about the Aquitaine!

That may be the case! But I'll probably still order one to compare the two....

I had this on back order but cancelled and went for the C65 Chronograph which I don’t regret, it’s an awesome watch. Still would like a Super Compressor but the reason I cancelled was the pre order date was pushed back well into May. I guess to accommodate the new face and rotor perhaps…. Things are changing!

I was not at all unhappy with the name at 9, but I’m loving the twin flags only at 12. And the bronze Aquitaine is really growing on me. This is a formula for financial falterings.

I sure hope so.

Not cause I have a logo preference, more so that my wallet doesn’t have a preference for logo and is happy to be a little more full regardless of the logo on the watch.

To me the quality and value of a CW remains the same regardless of what (to me at least) is a fairly inconsequential change.

drand wrote: Wed Apr 27, 2022 3:34 pm I agree on the Moonglow the logo seems incongruous, compared to the text at 9. I feel it draws too much attention away from the translucent lower part of the dial. However, this a unique watch. On the Super Compressor and all the others I have seen it on it is fine, the 'sportier' the watch the more it's an improvement but never less than equal, just different.
This is my feeling too. It looks too sporty for the Moonglow, I far prefer the brand name. The Super Compressor looks ok, but I won't be rushing to 'accidentally' damage mine so that I can replace it!

^^ ^^
The Super Compressor is probably my favourite watch from the CW line up. It just ticks a lot of boxes for me personally. I'd even accommodated the centred branding at twelve. I've looked at the twin flag iteration and I think I prefer it in its current form. It might be worth me holding out to see if CW offer reduced pricing on their current branded models. I also prefer the current rotor they use, I don't think the black rotor adds anything to the model.

Interesting observation. It just occurred to me what this thread was actually about, so I went back and watched the video again. The change of logo on the SC doesn’t bother me one way or the other, but I’d be eager to pick on up with the word mark if it showed up in the big sale to clear them out! As for the black rotor, I kinda like that. I think it adds a lot of visual interest.

After my initial ho hum reaction to the Aquitaine, I thought maybe I’d keep an eye out for a Deep Blue SC - fantastic color, cool case, fascinating technology. But after seeing the blue Aquitaine on the bracelet in this video, I’m starting to reconsider my initial reaction to the Aquitaine divers.

i think the old Chr.Ward brand text at 12h marker is the best design so far, not sure why they ditch that and messing around with brand name at 9 or no brand name at all on the dial 🤷

I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit lately. To me, this brand text looks very traditional. I can’t help but wonder if they thought because of that it didn’t fit with the direction they were going? The stacked text at 9 o’clock I always felt looked very crisp and modern. I had no issues with it.

That version of the C60, with that logo, is the quintessential CW watch, if you ask me. If I were ever to pick up a C60 Trident, it would probably have to be that version or an all black version. The current C60 is a fantastic watch, but that one screams Christopher Ward to me.

It's a great looking watch and I agree on the logo, the dial looks too empty with the Swish and given how small the inner section is I can't help worrying larger models will look worse. Think I'll stick with my collection of classics (3x Cw and 3x Chr.Ward)

Yeah. That version is probably the best logo after you witness all the drama surrounding it. The original V1 logo I have two of though I thought it was a little small and lacked prominence... but some people still swear by it today. It was a little too similar to one made by a different brand so they changed it to the V2 pictured... just as I joined the forum and became introduced to the brand almost 10 years ago (DAMN!).

The V2 was on my first automatic, or as I say, "real watch" I ever bought: the C11 Makaira (special to me for several reasons). And that logo is on most of my CWs (six!); including my blue C60 MK II. It definitely is a classic watch that brings me right back to 2015/16 and I can't see selling. And I have two with the V3 left-side including the C65 Vintage Mk II. It works OK I guess, but kind of comes off as gimmicky to me. At-least the watch is small so it feels balanced with the subtle Swish at 12.

I wish they would have stuck with the V2, but I think it was just too classy and "English Luxery" and went against the edgy brand they were trying to turn into. Lives in our memories though! :D
