My rule of thumb (and this is not aimed at the op but speaking in generalities), never buy a watch at full price from brands you know sales and offers are common place (waited years for my 1450 quid planet ocean for example). This may not apply in this case as I'm sure scooter is right when he thinks the code won't work in final checkoutt stages but if you have no patience in buying a product you can't blame the system.

Used my £50 on the C9 chrono. Then got the 10% off code via here which would of saved £97.50. Oh well it happens

Is the logical extension of that a two stream brand?

The high end and then the rest of the models?

Sort of like Toyota and Lexus or Seiko and Grand Seiko?

I'm not sure, I want the 'halo effect' of the high end watches to filter down to the mainstream stuff.

From CW's point of view, it comes down to the oft discussed topic on here of whether they're in the volume or premium watch business. I think they're in Business, and that doesn't always mean protecting the sensitivities of buyers.

If a 10% discount code brings in a few C900 sales, I don't see how that hurts the brand, I mean, you can get a discount on most watches on the high street if you ask, possibly Rolex excepted. Everybody knows that.

Those C900 buyers sensitive to the price of the C900 need to brace themselves for the price of the first used one to hit the market.....
Ideal number of watches in your collection = current number of watches + 1...

All watch brands discount........some with formalized codes, others with loyalty/repeat business and others via negotiation. Rolex SS Daytona (the new in house movement) 10% discount in Asia from an AD......i got this just by asking for a better price.

They ALL discount folks, at some point they all do. Business dictates sales are good as long as profit is made. How many times have we all bought watches, on line, grey market, AD and grabbed it because it was discounted?? Had it not been discounted we may not have pulled the trigger.

Not saying others POV is incorrect, just saying they ALL discount.

A thorough review of the company's marketing and discounting strategy is needed. Overlapping campaigns cause confusion and sooner or later will damage the brand.

A lot of comments are of the ilk ' one of those things' or 'all brands discount' I get that but to start discounting before the first watches have been delivered to those who paid full bat is clumsy. Add to that the ability to send the watch back (or cancel the order) get a full refund and re-order at the discounted price and you have a mishmash of overlapping offers and strategies. CW need to think things through more thoroughly to stop complaints like mine in their tracks. I liked the Seiko/Grand Seiko idea though...could be mileage in that.

Really frustrating for Jimleymurmer - I can sympathise. Hope they sort it for you but it is one of the reasons I have never paid full price for a CW, whereas I have for Rolex. I agree that for the C900 and JH there should be a different approach

Rolexes are never discounted (company policy applies to all global official stockists) unless you purchase overseas and get a tax / fx benefit at point of purchase. Top two destinations this year are Sharjah in the UAE (cheaper than Dubai or Abu Dhabi courtesy of import taxes being much lower) and Switzerland aftet he deduction of the 8% tax. This moved the new non-date cermaic bezel stainless steel sub from £5k UK to £3.9k (Sharjah) and £4.5k (Geneva)

Don't forget Iceland, buy a Rolex over there and save 15% via a tax refund from the government, thats 4250 for the quoted sub price. Pretty good seeing as its not really that far away.

How can their government afford to give tax refund like that when they are flat broke? :? Madness.
