Best I can do for now of a C63 Sealander GMT until I get home.

Not thrilled that DHL just left it there without signature. Luckily, my housemate was home.

Just popped through the door 5 minutes ago - what a beauty! The boxed sapphire crystal has a lovely profile and the fit is fantastic (my first CW - the ratchet adjust on the bracelet is just great - best fitting watch I own!)

Congrats, I picked one up this time last year on impulse and I really like it, very easy to wear and the red bezel really lifts it.

I'll be honest - every time I see a picture of one of these I do think they look fantastic!
I am not sure why I've never pulled the trigger on one myself (been in my basket a few times) but it's superb on your wrist!

Not strictly a sale purchase as it was from the pre-sale revival gig, but these were still in the sale at the same prices. It arrived in Oz today and I have to say I really like it. I’ve owned a few C8s, but they’ve been mostly cream models. I think the only C8 with a black dial was the later PVD dual crown model, so quite a different animal to this one.

The changes made, though mostly subtle, seem to work really well and I like the big display back, rather than the keyhole, which was IMO a bit of a wan an odd decision. I like the bigger numbers, bigger hands and in particular, the later model C8 crown that was used. If I’m honest, the diamond shaped, conical (comical?) crown was probably the main reason my C8s were sold; the 44mm case, though largish, wears really well due to being quite slim. It didn’t dig in, it just spoiled the rest of the watch for me.

The eagle eyed may note that the strap has fitted ends… It’s an old style C7 strap in red-brown alligator that I knew from past ownership, happens to fit the C8 case perfectly, so I swapped it over almost immediately. I also have some alternatives (as seen below) if I feel like a change. After the photo was taken I discovered a very dark blue/black version with blue dots, but the other three are probably much better matches.

^^ I no longer have an old C8 to compare it with, but it seems to me that the new one may have a slightly steeper bezel than the original, possibly making the new watch a fraction thicker than the original. Then again, it might be faulty memory or my imagination.

Does anyone who has both care to check that for me?

BTW, I also like the brushed finish and the narrow polished beveled edges, compared to the blasted one of the original. Minor marks won’t show up as easily.

Edit: I think (think!) the ends of the lugs have been rounded off for more comfort. Liking it more and more.

^^^^ Great write up Gary and the C7 strap is excellent.

As to thickness, you can (of course) cross check the figure by referring to the CWArchive.

I too have a feeling the revival is a smidgeon thicker.

C65 Chrono.jpg
Well... I decided I needed some colour. With my Christmas presents added to my watch fund I had a decent wedge and planned to get a C63 Green or maybe a Farer. But I decided to wait for the sale. I was disciplined and resolved that the ONLY thing I would buy would be a Dive Timer or a C65 Chrono. In truth I didn't expect either of them to pop up.

I couldn't believe my luck when 30 mins before the official email came out I refreshed a dead link that had been full of Abysses and C65 GMTs a few hours earlier, and when it sprung back into life, this popped up at the NN price. I bought first and asked questions later and then the wait began. Would I actually get it, and if I did what condition would NN be?

Well this turned up today and It's flippin' lovely. There was a slight crease in the strap but having been over it with a loupe the head is flawless. The chrono works and resets, the only thing I haven't checked is the timekeeping as it's only been on my wrist for about 30 minutes.

But in summary. I'm delighted to welcome my first Chronograph!

Like you, this was the watch I was hoping to buy, I got the email today telling me mine will be delivered tomorrow.
It was one of those rare moments that the watch I really wanted was in the sale..I am rarely that lucky.
It's great that you're so happy with yours, I am very excited to get mine.
