^^^^ The #tide strap will remain fairly stiff, Tim, making it suitable for hefty watches, but shapes well around your wrist in time.
Rolling / flexing it between your fingers will help.

First impressions?
Thanks, first impressions are good. This is my first mk3 Trident, although I tried one on at the London gtg a couple of years ago. The 42mm size wears really well, even on my slim wrist. The legibility is obviously not the same as a more standard colourway however it is meant to be a stealth watch so I think it is ok in that respect and just about readable, maybe not if you don't have good eyesight though!
A nice touch from CW, it came set at the correct date and time

The tide strap matches really well. It is quite stiff but actually comfortable at the same time. I see Guy's comment that it moulds more to the shape of the wrist over time.

I'm finding the same wearing the CWEC with #Tide strap... however, it's now started to get more comfortable and I've also removed one of the keepers (which was redundant for the length of strap left sticking out) and that helps even more tooBahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 2:46 pm ^^^^ The #tide strap will remain fairly stiff, Tim, making it suitable for hefty watches, but shapes well around your wrist in time.

Loving this watch and like the look with the grey/blue #Tide.... I do however have a lightly used C60 bracelet that will be winging it's way to me next week, courtesy of a well respected gentlemen of this very forum

Wow what is that?! Is that a forum special or something? Have I missed the post on the forum asking about what specifications we wanted???JasperCat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 4:48 pmI'm finding the same wearing the CWEC with #Tide strap... however, it's now started to get more comfortable and I've also removed one of the keepers (which was redundant for the length of strap left sticking out) and that helps even more tooBahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 2:46 pm ^^^^ The #tide strap will remain fairly stiff, Tim, making it suitable for hefty watches, but shapes well around your wrist in time.

Since I have an Abyss on the way, I am interested to hear what you think about this one. The Abyss models are difficult for me to tell without seeing one up close. Looks great in your pictures.

Re: Let's see your January sale purchases!
It's a Special/Limited Edition from the CW Enthusiasts (Facebook) group... original planning started about a year ago (I think) and then a draw was made about three months ago to select 30 winners, who then got the opportunity to buy these specially created watches. There are actually 31 in existence, as the prototype was also raffled over Xmas and someone was very lucky to get that as a prize

There are more details shared around on here somewhere... EDIT, here you go: general-discussion/friendly-knowledge-s ... =facebook
I believe it's ok to mention a "rival" member group exists and in fact many of us frequent both of course

Re: Let's see your January sale purchases!
My NN C60 Orange Sapphire arrived this morning. It’s the perfect size for me and looks fantastic under strong light, but under normal daylight just looks a bit washed out.
I already own an orange Seiko SKX and a C65 super compressor which looks fab on the orange tiber. Oh, and a C65 DiveTimer. They all edge the sapphire out in the orange stakes, so this’ll be on its way back to HQ in short order.

It's perfectly OK, Gary except I don't consider the CWE Group a rival group, more a fellow group, as we both have the same essential aim; an appreciation of CW watches.JasperCat wrote:

Its just we exercise that appreciation on different platforms.

Agreed, I like "fellow" group.... although a little friendly rivalry is perfectly fineBahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 8:06 pmIt's perfectly OK, Gary except I don't consider the CWE Group a rival group, more a fellow group, as we both have the same essential aim; an appreciation of CW watches.JasperCat wrote:

Re: Let's see your January sale purchases!
That’s a very good suggestion. Mine is indeed softening and moulding to my wrist but the tail remains very stiff. I’ve removed one of the keepers and it’s much easier to buckle now.

Very nice.
One of these was on my list, but none by the time I’d logged in.
