Sounds like the watch world has suffered a great loss, hopefully his retirement is long and happy.

It may not be a handmade custom but I'd still buy a ticket or two for a chance at the replacement.

Without doubt a great loss. I’m working with CW re the promotion text, once that’s complete the raffle will be launched. Hopefully the forum admin will allow me to place a raffle link here. Alternatively, details will be posted on the CWE Facebook Group.

Hope that both will be possible - the wider the publicity the better. Good luck with the auction, and to anyone buying a ticket.

Absolutely, I have a target in mind to raise. Also, I want this to be an inclusive raffle, not everyone can afford a watch that is just shy of a £1000. Hence, tickets won’t be expensive.

Big thank you to Steve and the Admin team for giving me the okay to post a link to the raffle on the forum, this will follow shortly. Tickets will be £1 and available to all, including overseas forum members. The wider the reach the more we can raise for funds for projects like a Circadian Systems for the Intensive Care Unit. The ‘sky view’ screens are placed above the patient’s bed and normalises an invasive environment enabling patients to recognise night from day, to allow rest and sleep to be developed into a normal patterns to reducie the risk of hallucinations. Particularly beneficial for patients recovering from a coma, as I witness during the height of the COVID pandemic. I’m particularly proud that we were able to install such a system. It’s just one example of where the funds will be used, all administrative costs are covered by our business interests.

My brother recently spent some time in Reading's Royal Berks ICU and he struggled with delirium so I can only imagine how beneficial these systems will be for future patients. Count me in for a few tickets when they become available

The RBH Critical Care Team are outstanding, I hope your brother made a full recovery.

When my Mother was in hospital with a complex leg fracture for about three weeks or more, she literally went totally delusional as she couldn't sit up properly with the leg so was staring at the ceiling for three weeks. If only the hospital had some of these sky view screens......
Outstanding things being done now, great to see these improvements.

Yes, I can’t see why not. Regarding duty I guess the value of the watch will be £1, the amount paid for the winning ticket. Maybe, someone in the US and or any other country can help answer.

A fantastic cause Richard and great to have CW supporting it - now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and buy some tickets!

One additional thought - it might be worth editing the raffle link into the first post of the thread so that people can easily find it. Good luck, hope you're able to get lots of support for the charity!

Tickets purchased! It’s more because of your descriptions of this worthy cause, Richard, than simply for the watch itself. Bravo to you for making this happen.
