Blued screws as in heat treated?

I think the blue is from guilding, not from heat treatment. I think the idea to guild them with the color blue came from seing movements that showed darkened screw heads as a result of heat treating them for hardness and it looked real nice. That's how most CW movements came I think. My C5 has those blue screws.

They certainly add to the overall look of the movement. Very nice 8)

Found an old Watch Time article, which describes two different types of blued screws: http://www.watchtime.at/archive/wt_2009 ... 09_042.pdf.

No comments to make on the very lovely C5, but more an observation on the many US based contributors to this thread. By the way, the shores of Lake Ontario sounds absolutely lovely (not that other locations aren't, especially dear ol' Clacton where I spent many a childhood holiday sploshing around in the freezing north Sea).

Yet another good choice Bjorn! As long as you don't intend to team it up with an explosion of beige! 8)

Beige :? ? No, strictly black with gold for me. There are, after all, limits!

Beautiful watch, I prefer silver or black myself but that is a cracking watch.
