When I was young, before I became enlightened, I thought a watch was just for telling time. Didn’t know the difference between watches, a dive, GMT, military, dress, or chronograph watch were all the same (I know – oh the shame).

I wore the same watch for 20 years and survived. Don’t know if it was the fall off the roof or food poisoning but something changed and watches took on a life of their own. Now I have more watches that one man needs, belong to watch forums, and read anything I can about watches.

Thinking that watches are just for telling time was not a bad time.

One case of watches may be a more palatable goal🤣

CW watch count - enough to keep me very happy, but always room for more!

A bit extreme if I may say!

A far more sensible opinion would be how many can you stuff into jacket, shirt and trouser pockets, for a week away.🤣

Thanks for all the replies, suggestions and support.
So, a quick call to CW Towers this morning and I had confirmation that my order was placed, that there was still stock (I know that stock levels can vary in the bun-fight of a clearance sale) and that delivery method had been switched from DPD to Royal Mail.
I was also assured that it would be dispatched today and that I’d get an email confirming this later.
Assuming it all goes smoothly, Mr Postman will try to deliver it tomorrow, most likely when I’m out at a long-standing prior engagement (typical!) so I’ll have to collect it from my local depot on Sunday morning.
Fingers crossed, and plenty of images to come once it lands.
Keep well,
C

Depends on for how long? I managed it for maybe 50 years total but then discovered the world of multiple watch owning. Now? I'm lost.

Ok, a slight technical hitch…
No delivery today. I can only assume that delivery will be attempted on Monday.
No worries, just a slight delay to the experiment, and therefore another few days for me to sew up some suitable leather straps for the watch.

It may be a blessing if it's a day late. Our postman is apt to leave parcels on the doorstep. The tracking should show you where it is anyway. Good luck. :D

Hmmm, I got my second watch when I was 10, so at least I can blame my parents for the multiple watch affliction. But I have been feeding into it for well over forty years. Heck, I don’t even have just one Sandstorm, never mind just a single CW. :p So, while I see it as theoretically possible, just one watch is not for me.

Sorry for the delay, but she was finally delivered today.
I will also apologise in advance for just these teaser images; lighting at this time of night is not ideal!

She arrived on a distressed CW leather strap. Not what I ordered her on, but not an issue. I intend to only wear her on one of my own hand made leather straps, NATOs or a stainless steel bracelet that I can swap in from another watch I already own.

I aim to get some better images up over the next couple of days when lighting is better

Since I received my Pelagos 39 in December, I've only worn another watch twice so I believe people can be converted.
