Just joined the CW club

Post by bydandie »

Well, despite wanting a Stowa, I have celebrated my contract extension with a C4 Peregrine (C4SKT). I was not going to go back to a quartz, but it is simply a refined choice and I can't wait until I get it now. I was going to get the blue face watch, but blue faces are so common in most low-end watches now it didn't feel right.

Cheers Kip,

I'm still getting the Stowa, although explaining to the missus why I'm spending £400 on a watch when I've just exposed the watch industry as being an overpriced sham will be interesting!

OK, not happy now. Having just phoned to find out when the watch would be shipped given the bank holiday, I 've been told that the watch is out of stock and when I queried this I was asked if I had checked the stock levels on the website (Which of course don't exist!). Call me pedantic, but on an eCommerce site there should be an indication of the stock levels on the site (Or at least if something is out of stock).

I don't mind if the watch isn't in stock, but do mind when out of stock items are not shown as such. Chris doesn't have brick and mortar shop fronts to sell his wares, so this is an oversight IMHO. :(

Having stock levels is something that was brought up before. It really isn't anybody's business how many he has in stock, but it makes sense to me that if a minimun level was reached, maybe Chris could have them show on the site. Such as "only 50 available" and update it daily or weekly. At least if you were told it was sold out it wouldn't be a total surprise. I'll bet there is evn a way for it to update every time an order is placed. It would certainly help with customer realations imo. In this day of movement uncertainty this feature would seem important to me.

Yayyy!

Had a brainwave, asked if they had the C4SKS in stock (Which they did) and could I buy the tan strap and they fit it for me prior to sending out (Which they could). It's being packed as we speak, and as I was going to get the stainless steel strap anyway it's cost me no more than I was going to pay in the long term! 8)

Fantastic customer service, but poor eCommerce model!

Good thinking!! Why didn't they think of that?

no idea but I will be asking Chris the same question as they could have lost the opportunity to make some money!
