Do you switch after adding items to your cart, but before you actually go in to the cart to start the checkout process? Not seeing how to do this switch on mobile.thomcat00 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 5:42 pmYou can search in USD, add items to your basket, then switch the currency to GBP for your check out. There is a bit of savings for American buyers that way. Apparently not so generous a difference for CAD or AUD.nycWATCHnerd wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 4:11 pmI was trying to pay in GBP to save the 10% currency buffer CW (and other brands) put into their MSRP to deal with currency fluctuations.
My post was the display discrepancy between the currencies. If you’re browsing in USD v. GPB before you add to your basket, the USD view sometimes shows more available items. No idea why. I raised it with CW, but in the year since I pointed it out it has not been fixed.
Happy shopping!

Re: July Sale 2024 Thread
When I try to go all the way back to homepage and then switch to gbp, I lose the contents of my cart.

Nevermind, I figured it out, but lost out on the Cordovan 22mm that I had in cart. Oh well.

If you pay with Paypal, I believe checkout is pretty much instant.

Re: July Sale 2024 Thread
I finally picked something up from the "sale" bin. I'll share when it arrives (technically it will be my 2nd CW, see below).
My wife might kill me because only a few days ago I ordered a new Trident Pro 300 GMT after the NYC event. 2024 was supposed to be the year of slimming down the collection by selling. At least Jan-Jul was all selling of more than 20 watches.

Not to worry, I already have a spreadsheet to factor the difference for me.thomcat00 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 5:42 pmYou can search in USD, add items to your basket, then switch the currency to GBP for your check out. (Please not all values, including NYS tax and import duty on the right are in GBP until converted to US at the end)
Interestingly, my spreadsheet was off less than $3 compared to what American Express charged me. Close but not perfect probably because they use a floating currency conversion mechanism.

Re: July Sale 2024 Thread
You could have bought it on the tide strap and picked up the NN bader bracelet for a total of less than the watch on just the bracelet.
I was very tempted, but I'm also mindful of the up coming 'Ultimate', so I'm keeping my powder dry and hoping not to be disappointed.
Interesting that the NN prices are only 20% off of retail, I believe that this is helping keep flippers at bay.

Yes, I would rather have more than 20% off. I might have gone for it with a hybrid strap even so.

Purchasing new would have cost MSRP and another 14% for Import Duty because it was over the $800 threshold. Purchasing NN and paying in GBP netted me savings of 20% for NN, then another 11% off by paying in GBP (getting me under the $800 threshold), and then 14% off because of no import duty.
(technically, since these savings are "stacked", it was actually 37.4% off retail purchasing NN as a USA customer).
It's not like I could not afford the extra $500 for purchasing new but why not save the cash if the watch only has a few marks, if any at all. Sure makes the ownership cost lower if I ever want to sell it in the future.
Trident 300 Pro on Bader example: Full MSRP, NN paid in US$, NN paid in GBP
Re: July Sale 2024 Thread
Guys, they have just uploaded quite a bit more kit including TI 12s and a bronze pro 300 amongst others.
Someone please buy some before I cave in and blow my budget for the ultimate trident.

Re: July Sale 2024 Thread
They listed some nearly new Trident Pro 600 so they are under $800 and immune from USA Import Duty.
