I got the Twelve 36 Ti [lagoon blue]. I think it's about as cheap as it's ever going to get unless I take a risk on 3rd party used watches.

Now I live in fear that it's going to come covered in scratches, after watching a youtube review where they complained about the condition of the watch after being passed from reviewer to reviewer!

I'll be happy with just some scratches around the clasp and bottom of the bracelet, as that's what would happen to all my watches.

The Cartier Santos ought to be the ultimate scratch magnet, but the owners seem to live with it, or occasionally try to polish them out.

Not sure about polishing titanium. At least the bracelet is grade 2 Ti, which I understand will oxidise over time, so any scratches will turn darker and blend with the surrounding areas. I hope.

This will be my first Ti watch.

Congratulations. I think the Twelve is a great range of watches.

I have had my 40 Ti AG since the end of January. To date it has been worn as my main watch of the day on 30 occasions, plus on the wrist for part of the day another 12-15 times. It has accompanied me (typically as one of three watches) on two mountain/hill walking holidays and one beach holiday, as well as being worn at home cooking and gardening.

As you can see the clasp is completely scratched up (not)…

Thanks for the reassurance, @nbg . However, that's your own watch. Even if you don't baby it, you're not going to be unreasonably rough with it if you don't have to.

NN watches are often review or display watches. And reviewers might not treat a watch that's not their own that carefully. So that complaint by a reviewer makes sense to me. He might have received a terribly scratched one after it had done its rounds with many other reviewers.

The question is whether CW will release a badly scratched watch into the NN pool.

I’ve purchased a few NN watches in the sales over the past few years. Most have been without flaws that I could find. One C65 had a noticeably scratched bezel, and a C60 had bracelet scuffing as well as lug scratches from a bracelet removal. My brand new C63 FLE arrived with a bezel scuff which was disappointing, though after thinking on it I decided to keep it as it was going to see use and consequent obvious wear anyway.

I hope you find you’re pleased with condition of the one coming your way.

I would seriously doubt that they would. After all, "badly scratched" doesn't sound like "nearly new". I know something new can be damaged on day one, but then the price will reflect that. If you aren't happy with any purchase, just send it back. Yes it's a pain and a disappointment, but you won't lose any money.

I’ve had mine just over a year and the bracelet has picked up some light desk rash along the way. My titanium wedding ring is a year older and that’s also fairly scuffed up.

I get really put off by desk diving swirls. I feel like not wearing the bracelet to avoid them. That was especially true when I was getting scratches like that during COVID, and not even going out. I have a few watches I actually keep on straps to preserve the bracelet.

Unsold piece from a Bespoke project.

Looks to be sold now, as the 'add to bag' is feint.

I saw it before the weekend when it was first posted. I was intrigued but then when I researched the team/group and I was no longer interested.
