I'll check my account later tonight when I finish work.
No need for CWL to loose sleep, I wont sue, it's only a bloody watch!!

I can see that having the sale on a Bank Holiday before a weekend probably adds to the frustration for everyone when details are not updated and emails aren't answered as quickly as you'd like though. I thought last years NN sale was pretty straight forward were the watches were listed individualy and we had to email Wera if you wanted to buy.

Straight forward for us perhaps, but I bet it was a nightmare for poor Wera! :)

Wera has been working today. Don't know how she does it with a family and all.

I bet it was, rather her than me. Wonder if she needs an assistant? Might just enquire about any vacancies for an Aircraft Baggage Loader with a Customer Service background..... :)

I guess I'll know more come Monday.
There may be some returns of the sale C40's - maybe Wera can keep you in the loop if any are returned?

I had a lot of grief from within 20 mins of the sale starting @ 12pm GMT. I got no further than VISA verification or if I switched to Paypal that too bombed out (as did the entire CW website eventually..). The payment processing (VISA and Paypal) was clearly falling over waiting for a response/link back from the CW site. It was about 3am GMT before my C40 order went through. It could be that there were further problems after then.
Hopefully I'll get another chance at a C40. Glad to hear you landed one. :-)

Checkout behaviour has changed though... Instead of step 1 to 2 not moving along when clicking continue and then logging me out, now it simply hangs at "Loading next step..." with the spinning circle eternally looping.

Had a friend who's a devoted Firefox user check (since IE hanging is usually browser related), and he breezes past 1 to 2 to 3 to 4. I'm on IE8, and it hangs. So, maybe it was / is a browser issue? Since I didn't ask him until today (and the problem has changed), I don't know if it was a browser issue originally.

Is everyone else using something other than IE or IE8?

I hit the sale after 11am in the monring 1/1/10 and got an automated order confirmation messaged timed 11:39 OK. I'm using IE8 and had no problems at all with the ordering / payment authorisation, I may just be lucky though.
I'll find out over the next few days assuming we get any delivery men through the snow!

You probably need a response from someone who is using CW.com, rather than CW.co.uk...

As a matter of interest I use Firefox. IMHO it is much better than IE8 - Faster, with fewer problems...

probably true, especially as it would likely be funnelling data thru the https://*.com at that point. still, at least someone w/ IE8 has the site code work... ;-)

yeah, my buddy is always trying to convert me to Firefox  , but IE8 has been surprisingly good and i'm resistant to change. since that last post, i did download and install Chrome. Chrome also gets me through the checkout process to step 3+. :?

Well, at least I can buy a watch now. ;) We'll see what tomorrow brings.

There were some ongoing issues with VISA payments in the USA. I'm not sure if they're still happening, or indeed relevant to this, but thought it worth pointing out all the same :)

I had no issues with Safari btw. But then I'm not in the USA either, so who knows

I prefer Firefox just use IE8 as a backup. Have done for years found less problems with it than IE.

Hi all,

On New Years Day I emailed Wera asking what exactly was meant by "Newly New"... Before I found this forum and this thread! Anyway, this morning I got a reply and thought it might be useful to share.

If anybody has any objection with my posting of a "personal" email I will gladly remove it, but I do not think that this is a problem in any way - Simply may be useful for some...
NEARLY NEW….these are watches with minor scratches…..majority of them used for photographic purposes…or watches have been scratched by technician prior to sending them out…because of the scratches, we can not sell them as new….the odd one may have been returned as unsuitable by customers.
Thanks :).

Update:

I've heard from Wera, and we're exchanging emails now.

The problems for IE 8 between steps 1 & 2/3 are back to how they were Friday / Saturday, but I've confirmed it does go through with Chrome. So it is definitely related to IE 8 in some fashion.

Too bad I didn't think to install and try another browser early Friday AM. :/

LavaChild -- Thanks for the further 'official' clarification on what defines Nearly New. That was definitely a question weighing on my mind as well.

I still haven't received any emails regarding the nearly new watch I ordered in the early hours of 01 January. I actually ordered a new (non-sale) watch at about 9pm on 31 December and received an instant order confirmation. Then I ordered a nearly new watch in the sale at about 2 or 3 am on 01 January but have heard nothing. Both orders are showing as "Complete" in my Order History, but I can't find any courier/Royal Mail tracking numbers on the website.

The email I received for the new watch said: "We will contact you by email when your goods are despatched, together with your tracking number so you can follow the progress of your order. Alternatively you can check on your order online in the My Account section of our website by following this link" However, dispite opting for the next day delivery (so would need to be dispatched on Monday 04 January), I still haven't received any despatch emails.

These are my first orders from CWl. Is this usual?

Have you checked your account on the CWL website? It should be posted there by now. If not contact customer service.
