January 2022 Sale

Post by nowttolose »

Last year IIRC it landed on the 6th Jan. So probably only one week away.

I wouldn’t mind a nearly new Sandhurst if I can get my fingers to click fast enough.

I will make sure I am logged on and have credit card at the ready to minimise the buying time.

I would suggest that you start exercises for the fingers in true military style by doing press ups on your fingers to strengthen them :D

Better yet, have an account with CW and already have your CC on file before hand. Don’t waste time plugging in all 16 numbers when you’re trying to put in the order! Every second counts!

Possibly some C65 GMT & Worldtimer models in the sale as they have disappeared from the CW website.
Also maybe some C60 Elite GMT 1000 models which recently went the same way.

Definitely looking for something - Bronze C60 Limited Edition, a Sealander black, or a Colchester (hoping that one or more of these have been returned “Nearly New”).
Aside from them, any one-offs or prototypes would be well worth my attention.
Credit card, overdraft and a healthy kidney ready for donation…
Keep well,

I like this thread. I’m trying to build a decent watch fund so will *try* to avoid the lure of the deal. I may be tempted if something unique that brings something different to my collection pops up…….

I told myself that if a C65 Worldtimer or a C63 GMT in white popped up under the US tariff threshold, I’d jump on it, wife’s wrath be damned. We’ll see.

I wish the January sale wasn’t in January. It would be a lot easier for me to give CW my money if it wasn’t coming on the heels of the Christmas season and all the associated bills.

"...some C65 GMT & Worldtimer models..."
Sat in the fence for a Pepsi since it came out. Was hoping for a realignment of the CW brand.
Now it's gone. Hopefully I'll be able to get one on the sale

Hi. Relatively new to the forum. Is there some sort of structure on how Christopher Ward handles their semi annual sales? Do all models get some sort of discount or is it limited to a select few pieces?

I will very much look forward to any old models of SH21 appearing in this sale, and overdraw my credit card with no hesitation, especially LE model.

There might be a couple of "nearly new" returns but obviously as new models which sell well they wont have any stock clearance reductions on the C63.

Welcome :)

Usually the sale is a combination of clearance of old models (there's probably an Al Deere or two still available ) and random "nearly new" watches which are customer returns from the current range that for some reason can't be sold as new, though often the person who buys them can't tell why. Also usually there are some straps and bracelets but again, not all.

For those new to CW's semi annual sales here's an idea of what to expect. There are generally brand new discontinued models or colorways offered at 40-50% off, and available "Nearly New" stock from returns or review samples at 30% off. Some 'one of a kind' prototypes have been offered in past sales, not sure of their discount level. Hope that helps, and happy new year!
