Re: Information inconsistency?
I clicked on the sale link within 1 min of it being posted here, and the website was taking minutes to load each page. There was only a possible hint of an upcoming sale posted here on the forum without a specific time, so if someone truely did organize a DDOS attack, they would pretty much have to be crawling the forum constantly looking for hints of when the next sale is. Seems kind of unlikely to me but I’m no expert.

Unlikely, yes. But CW have sent an e-mail saying that is what happened, so that is what happened, and we have been instructed to believe and accept it.Kuztomized wrote:...Seems kind of unlikely to me but I’m no expert.
Re: Information inconsistency?
For goodness sake - whatever caused it it happened and it's history so let's get over it and stop the stupid name calling ! (not that everybody did, you know what I mean)
*Edit* - sorry should have said PLEASE.

Re: Information inconsistency?
There are daily attacks of varying types and sizes for most companies.nbg wrote:^^^^^ A few hundred pounds! Well I hadn't realised how easy it was for someone to launch a DDOS.
Presumably large corporates have a means of protecting themselves against such attacks?
Otherwise the usual suspect alleged "corporate badies" such as major banks, dominant platform online retailers or major high street coffee chains, would be subject to DDOS attacks every day of the week from random anti capitalists?
Neil
Those companies are well equipped to deal with these and other sorts of attacks. There are numerous products, varying from cheap (software only) to incredibly expensive (multiple network devices), on the market that help mitigate or entirely block them.

Yes, sorry, my mistake, forgot to drink my special Kool-Aid this morning. Of course that is what must have happened.Scrogg wrote:Unlikely, yes. I was waiting for you to show up and you didn’t disappoint. It’s nice to see that some things don’t change as you revert to your normal pattern of insults and name calling as a substitute for intelligent discussion. So, to repeat for your edification; golfjunky started this thread with the title “the ************” (edited by Moderator*) without first hand knowledge of the situation, that’s a fact. You can name call and insult all you want, but that won’t change anything except perhaps your relevance as a forum member.Caller wrote:Dude? DUDE?? Please read or reread smegwina’s very cogent post on this matter. You’re certainly entitled to your views, but please show some respect to your fellow forum members and express them in an adult manner which does not include calling people liars without FIRST HAND knowledge.
*Edit by Moderator:- Gentleman, some decorum please.

Re: Information inconsistency?
I saw the working prototype at the showroom last year. To be honest my interest was more intellectual than personal but I think the hands were blued (don't trust this necessarily). As it was a prototype the details may well change before launch.fishman wrote:Did you happen to notice if the hands were blued or black on the white dial and if blue and black dials will be offered?albionphoto wrote:I've seen the Air. Re: Information inconsistency?
Now this is more like it! Get at it chaps - the silliness that is.
On a more boring note, I emailed CS early yesterday morning regarding personal detail security in light of this (as mentioned in one of my earlier posts before I get called out....) and haven’t heard back yet. I know you guys have said it would be secure and ok but I would like to hear from CS on the matter in any case. I guess they have more important s**t to crack on with at the mo.
