Sometimes it never lets you out of its grasp... From the age of 18 or 20 I would buy a new watch every couple of years, but in the last 15-20 years it's been anywhere between 4 and 25, or more, a year. It's cyclical to an extent, but has really not shown any signs of abating. I don't have all of those watches anymore, as most were sold to fund others, but I've really enjoyed the journey. Some of my past watches are ones I wouldn't consider wearing these days (because of style, nothing to do with prices), but some of them have become enduring parts of my collection. I have slowed down a little of late, but I suspect it's just one of those cyclical things; I have no desire to stop...

I'm enjoying the learning process for sure. I suspect that the four I have now will ultimately leave the building as I develop my list.

I think all watch lovers, at some point in our lives, must go through a phase of owning "too many" watches (subjective), or more watches than we "need." I'm there with you, though income is a major limiting factor for me, even I have slowly but surely accumulated more watches than I perhaps should, and still have my eye on more when finances allow.

I often think about parting with one or two of my watches to refine the collection, but I don't know that I'm ready, or will be for a long time. For now, expanding the watch drawer is still more interesting to me.

Agreed. I'm definitely in the expansion mode. I think I can rotate a quality collection of 10-12 watches weekly, but this does require one to be intentional.

My current watch collecting bug first struck in January 2013 and I have had great deal of enjoyment out of buying, owning and selling watches over the ensuing near 4 years.

Current stats are:-
Bought 110, sold 54.
Of the 56 remaining, some 26 are in consideration for selling on.

Unfortunately a recent change in financial services has meant a severe curbing of my buying activities, although the odd one or two still manage to sneak through.
Cheers

Reading through your thread scares me. I have yet to buy my first CW but I have a feeling I can't just get one..

I feel myself sliding down the same slippery slope now that I've discovered Chris Ward!

I'm already on the lookout for a C8 Regulator!
