How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
Re: How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
C9 big date at the 5th Test this afternoon. He also had a C60 in need of a service. Good selection of nice watches in the OCS stand.

C60 Mk 2.5 black dial with a red bezel at WindUp NYC today. This was not on a CW team member but a member of the public.

Trying on a Longines in shop in Bromley wearing my C9 big blue chrono and the manager assisting me notices turns out he owns 2 CW and his father who's a watch guy owns several too.. however as at work he was wearing stock brand.

I had a forum user comment on my C40 at black tie event, he told me he had one at home... but he was wearing a Seamaster that night

Only twice. Once at work, and also at a Redbar event.

Re: How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
Popped round to a small deli close to my house this afternoon for some eggs. I normally don't do much food shopping and haven't been in this deli before.
The guy who served me had a rather nice black dialled diver on a bracelet that caught my eye. Without trying to be too weird and stare, the handset did look quite Trident mk3-esque. When he handed me my change, the twin flags logo was clear on the bracelet clasp, it was indeed a 42mm mk3 Trident.
He was chatting to another chap so I didn't mention the watch.

Re: How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
I saw my first on Saturday - but not on a stranger.
I was was chatting to one of my teammates after a hockey match on Saturday, and the watch he was wearing caught my eye - a brand new Mk3 Trident. Turns out it was a 50th birthday present from his wife - apparently it was to replace a Breitling given to him on his 40th by his ex....
When I mentioned it, he was shocked I noticed - but even more shocked when I told him how many of their watches I had...

Never heard of them till a friend tipped me off. Here in US you don’t see them at all.
Re: How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
Never seen a CW a stranger wearing a CW. However when my interest in CW started and after months of obsessing and paying attention to what friends, colleagues, clients and strangers were wearing. I discovered a colleague sitting opposite me had been wearing a CW for a few years.

Re: How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
A couple of years ago I saw a chap wearing a white C60 in a bar/burger joint in downtown Atlanta. He seemed genuinely delighted that some random Brit had bumped into him and complemented him on his choice of wristwear.Eatrightwatches wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 9:06 pm Never heard of them till a friend tipped me off. had a rather pleasant gentleman in work yesterday sporting a Grand Malvern PR, that then led to a 20 -30 min conversation about CW and watches as a whole

Re: How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
Was at work today and two people turned up with a delivery. One person was authorised to enter the building and the other wasn’t. The one who remained outside was about 10 metres away from me when he mentioned I was wearing a CW watch. Considering the time was roughly 12.50 his eyesight was very good. We got chatting and it turned out he was from Mappin and Webb and he said they had “done work” (of what he didn’t say) with CWL before. He knew his watches very well! First time anyone has noticed that the watch I was wearing was a CW watch (as I wear one of them in rotation nearly every day).
Cheers,
Chris
