How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
Re: How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
Only spotted one once, but had many questions about mine. The fellow CW wearer was understandably quite interested in watches in general and we had quite a long chat them.

I haven't seen another yet but I have had a lot of questions about mine, I love it!

Re: How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
About a week or so ago, I spotted one of my consultant colleagues wearing a C60 GMT SKKO on black leather / orange stitching. He likes it a lot but freely admits he's "not much of a watch person" and it was a gift from his brother (who he says is is very much into watches).
At almost the same time, I noticed another colleague wearing a very nice Longines Evidenza. Obviously some watch style in our department...
Sadly, i wasn't wearing CW at the time -- but I did at least have my Steinhart Marine on instead!

Indeed. At my office there isn't much general interest in watches. The only one with some value is one of our general managers, a Omega Seamaster. He wears it every day. I haven't seen him with other watch.Aesculapius wrote:About a week or so ago, I spotted one of my consultant colleagues wearing a C60 GMT SKKO on black leather / orange stitching. Funny enough, I see CWs a lot, as I have turned friends and family on to the brand (my brother owns 4 of them, and coworkers had started joining the CW family as well).
I am a physician in the Philadelphia area, and have had a few patients come in wearing CWs. They are always shocked at my instant recognition of what they consider to be an obscure watch brand, not realizing I am such a watch nerd. Ironically, recently a patient was wearing a C65 Trident Classic, and I instantly recognized the counter balance on the seconds hand. But I did a double-take because I didn't even know the C65 collection existed! That night I checked them out on the website, and I must say it looked SO much better in person than online. Regardless, now I want to buy one!

Only ever seen one...my C4 I sold to a customer I got talking to at work about watches...does that count

Re: How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?
Come to think of it, I've never seen one aside from mine in real life. Its a shame that so few people have caught on to these amazing watches. I'm sure that we'll start seeing more and more as time goes on.

I went to do a quote last year for a new client that lives around the corner from me. He is a very wealthy guy that owns his own company. I saw a burst of yellow on his wrist...I said to him, is that a C11 Elite from Christopher Ward?! He looked at me in amazement, called his wife in who also had a CWL watch - and we had a good chat about the brand and their ethos....I got the job too!

I didn't see any in UK so far. Maybe smartphones are more interesting than watches these days.

Never seen any up here in the Frozen North
In fact I was in my local Jewelers twice in the last two weeks and he was blown away with the quality and build
Said mine were the first he had seen in the flesh (C60 Trident Pro and Makaira)

Finally seen one!
Chatting to one of the girls at work today I spotted a distinctive double tour strap and yes, an actual CWL out in the wild!
I'm guessing an S21 Emily in white? I don't know enough about the women's range to be certain, but looks like ones in the Reference Gallery, just old logo so perhaps a MkI?
Apparently her dad is a huge fan and has "loads" of CWL watches...

Headed to France last Thursday via Euro Tunnel.
At the English police check booth (just ahead of the French Passport one) I spotted a C1000 attached to the hand reaching out to take our passports. The nylon band was a great match for his stab vest!
