Help me decide which watch to buy (received, with pics)

Post by ajax87 »

I decided to take advantage of the 15% off and buy a CW today (in reality it’s because the wife gave approval). I’m a notoriously indecisive person and would like some help. There are 3 that I really like that will fit niches in my collection:

C7 Rosso Corsa
C60 Abyss
C60 trident GMT 42mm black dial/red bezel (though I’ve seen rumblings about issues with the gmt movement? Maybe I’ll get the non gmt?)

I welcome any input you might have, whether it be from personal experience with the watches or just your opinion! Of course this is mostly personal preference, but still. I’m excited. Thanks.

They are very different so you must think about each on your wrist...

Never had any problems with the GMT movements in the C60 - I’ve got two.

I like the Abyss ( I am biased, I do have one). I like the fact it's different to the others but also, despite the shades of black/ grey the Abyss is easy to read.

I agree with the above points, all very different so depends what you are after. I also have the Abyss, did consider selling it as found I wasn't wearing it much but now I have it on bracelet it's like a totally different watch.

Goldilocks thought daddy bear's watch was too red. She found mummy bear's watch, but that was too black. Then she found baby bear's watch, and that was just right.

Three quite different watches selected and any one of them would seem (from your signature) to fit into your collection.

On the GMT movement I've got/had this in three CWs recently; all without issue.

Overall, I would highlight the comments from @Kansas City Milkman and @DanBailey007 on the Abyss, especially "despite the shades of black/ grey the Abyss is easy to read." - I have looked at the Abyss up close last year.

Good luck with your decision; you've got a little over 2 hours to place your order (23:59hrs GMT).

Haha yes, the GMT would be the safe choice, wouldn’t it?

I obviously wanted a watch with some red. The C7 would be my first chronometer, the GMT would be my first GMT, the abyss my first non silver colored or gold watch.

Decision made, purchased just before the sale ended. Will post a pic upon arrival!

If faced with a choice between those three, I’d have gone for the GMT.

I have recently started to appreciate the attraction of the Abyss, so that would be my choice of the 3.

Good job too Guy! It was your first hand feedback last year that gave me the encouragement to buy the Abyss. Very pleased I did!

Spoiler alert, I chose the Abyss. I would’ve loved any one of the 3 (and probably will get the others sometime in the future) but it was the bracelet for the abyss that finally swayed me along with everyone’s positive reviews. Can’t wait to have it on my wrist! Should arrive this week!

I think you chose wisely. The trident does look a little more devilish!

And good if you are a Manchester United fan!
