Help FOR Heroes

Post by Cirrus »

Just to keep the Chris Q&A thread clear of this I have started over here ;)

Do we think it is a good idea to try and get CWL to produce something in support of HfH? Doesn't need to be a LE.. could be an ongoing thing maybe?

If a Help for Heores watch (ltd edition or not) is produced, it would always be possible to have a 'custom' Forum LE to show our special support.

OK, my bright idea on this subject goes like this...

CW with their history of producing pieces for military units and TimeFactors with their history of history and ongoing support for various charities get together with HfH and design something like the ubiquitous G10... not an actual G10 (though something like it would seem apt!) but a specification as with the G10.

CWL, TF and whomever else could each produce their own versions with x% of the sale price going to HfH (or maybe the Legion or RAFA or whatever depending on the version?)... with the added benefit that people like me would want to collect all the versions ;)

So... is this workable? Is it worth approaching Chris and Eddie?

Yeah - one of my many word based blind spots! I know what it is, but I cant seem to write what it is ;)

Definitely workable Cirrus.

Kip will have fun when he checks the forum this morning.

Sounds good Cirrus, I think what ever the plan it should be something SIMPLE and relatively quick to set up. A complicated, long winded process should be avoided - and is likely to turn off CW.

Whilst we all have strong opinions about watches, the spirit behind this venture should be a prompt display of support for HfH that also contributes to the worthy Charity by us watch loving types

How about a HfH NATO strap? Based on the HfH colours as per website with logo. Much easier to execute I would think and higher volumes?

And it's horrible... looks cheap and nasty and the review agrees ;)

These are available alreadly, seen them around, albeit only in 18mm & 20mm IIRC.

Stick to the Watch. CWL should have complete comtrol over the design. He will know availablility of parts, cases, movement etc.

I am not sure if Chris and Eddie could ever get together on this, but I can tell you Chris is already aware of the topic and has agreed to give it a good think.

Regardless of the outcome, this has been an excellent idea and I am proud of you guys for the thoughts that have come forth and the reasons for them.
