^^^ it’s a pretty special one. My first mechanical ‘proper’ watch, bought for my 40th birthday in fairly unusual circumstances . It was my One Watch for years until I succumbed to the slide into the rabbit hole. If you read any of that first post I made on the forum you’ll see that the enabling by some illustrious forumites started straight away

I sold it a few years ago and don’t regret it. I didn’t miss it until now. But it’s the best looking watch I’ve ever come across. For me, there’s not another that comes close. Up popped this one for sale and I didn’t think twice :D

@missF

Last autumn I started a thread called ‘Your “Defining” watch?’

You posted about your Breitling.

I understood your choice but at the time you didn’t possess what I have always considered to be your defining watch. You do again now, and I am so pleased to see it. Whenever I see a picture of that watch I always associate it with you, and when I think of you I always have an image of that watch on your wrist.

I know it’s your birthday sometime around now, and that’s a perfect present to self. Absolutely brilliant – look after this one please.

^^^ you’re absolutely right Steve. I think I just had to take my self on a bit of a journey through a pile of different watches otherwise I would always have been curious. My choices got smaller it seems but once I hit 36mm I realised I was thinking along different lines - big, eye catching without being blingy, and I was thinking a lot about 12,3,6,9 dials, or variations on that. D’oh!!
Seems I was taking myself back to the start again  :D

Good to see you’ve managed to pick one of these up again. I note the old one is still visible in your avatar picture.

Looks like with this watch you’ll be able to make use of that large strap collection you’ve been acquiring as well.

Totally top notch, Lindsey.

Thank you for linking to your earlier post, I don't recall reading it before but it is heartwarming stuff.

Overall, you have been, and still are, on an incredible journey of life, health, watches and much other stuff in between. May it long continue.

As for the C11 MSL?

One of those was my first CW watch too, back in 2012. I'm glad you have come back to it; I never did quite fathom why you sold it. Now we know.

Enjoy it and wear it in good health.

Guy

Thanks Guy. The first step back towards the C11 was the Schofield thread and pictures of your Beater. I got very keen on the idea of saving for a Schofield for my fiftieth, but as much as I love so many features across the whole range there wasn’t one in particular design that really stood out for me. I’ll keep an eye open for new releases this year.
Anyway, it made me realise that I pretty much still love the kind of watches I used to dream of as a teenager - big ones

The C11 remains one of my favourite CW watches and my first one got a lot of wear until I decided that the lug to lug was just too much for me. I did rebuy but the same feelings were there.
This is very you as others have said so even when you dabble with others I think you should always keep one of these in your back pocket. You can't beat a bit of 3 6 9 12
Cheers now, Paul
