Design aside, love the lens flare on the dial mock ups, the sign of a true craftsman 8)

Loddonite wrote: This is a fun diver so the colours have to be vivid. The mockups above show this well except for the orange which looks muted for some reason. Can you turn the orange up to Tango? Maybe orange just doesn't suit my image of how this might work. (Orange, to me, says SERIOUS DIVER)). Black is "serious" too but can take the brighter bezels.

Could we try classic football team colours? I already said I like the Inter Milan and Newcastle versions...

Bloody good work T2.
Arther mentioned the lensflare. Its actually the lensflare that has washed out the colour on the orange. I will do one without it later. I will also see what I can do re the footie colours but it will be later tonight at some point. I have a busy day ahead of me so I will not manage until then. Keep the ideas coming though.

I vote for yes.
I may or may not buy one myself depending on any actual designs (although some of T2's are promising!)....but i think that at the right price point this would indeed be a go'er. It would definitely need to be competitively priced as it would be in a competitive area of the market (if that makes sense).

Anyway....i think the real reason behind this thread is obvious....T2 just wants another watch with his name on it

Yes, definately but not with any colours on it that look Rolexy. My opinion is that those Rolexes look cheap.

Not really for me as I don't dive and don't really like diver's watches for ordinary wear inspite of owning a Forum LE. Incidently, am I alone in feeling that the existence of C60 has devalued the exclusiveness of my LE? But there's a lot of support and divers are obviously popular so more power to your elbow. If I could comment, the splash is very distinctive and so I'd agree that the design should be original and not just a Rolex copy-there's enough of those around already IMHO!

I dont think it will look like a Rolex copy. I hope SBD will not mind me borrowing a pic of his partners watch. I had not appreciated before that the indices and hands were actually metal finish. Quite an interesting detail I thought as I had not picked that up from the CWL site. They looked white. The bezel is also quite fat.

Actually, T2, I think the first batch you mocked looked a little too Sub like. Every time I look at those pic SBD posted it get's better and better. The dial appears as though there is water running through the watch. Simply amazing.

Love the mock ups though and I'd think the best way to make them more masculine is to play with the colors. How about a black and red combo? Red dial though...I dunno, lol.

The problem in trying to do mockups is that you can only work with the images available. As I dont own a Splash I had to take a photo on the CWL website and strip it down and as we know the photos are not always the greatest. Those images were adapted from the image of the watch below. I had no idea those indices and hands were silver for instance. They looked white to me. If you think these images are bad then you should take a look at mockups I did a couple of years ago for the Terminator etc. The images on the CWL website at that time were particularly poor. As I have said before which came from experience of doing an excercise like this before is please do not take the images too literaly. I can only work with the tools given so you guys need to also use a little imagination too.

T2 - Just wanted to apologise for my crazy post last night, too much beer I'm afraid :(

The time you are spending on this deserves better and I was out of order, so please accept my sincerest apology. They are even growing on me a bit now!

Okay Loddonite. I have done these as requested but ??? And its a big but lol. I think these types of colour schemes are going a bit overboard. I agree we should have vivid colours but to keep it from looking like a Rolex but there is vivid and then theres vivid lol. Not for me Im afraid lmao.

I have also chucked in an orange dial version without the Lens Flare. Remember to see the images properly you need to open/enlarge them. The forum software while shrinking them down also pixelates them so you need to enlarge to see them better.

Theres nothing to apologise for. I was just asking you to explain your thoughts a bit better. I just thought with your post you thought the watches all had to be Pepsi's.

My thoughts were a little muddled! Partly due to the beer, partly due to some bad news - but no excuses for being rude.

Instead of bright colors, how about going in a dif direction? Maybe a stealth version with matte black markers, case, hands and bezel, yet still have a black pearl dial or like a very dark abalone. Would def be masculine and still keep in touch with it's Splash roots... Just throwing stuff out there...
