Re: FLE #8 design submissions
These all work for me, I'm not even particularly fussed about which hand set may be chosen. Was there a version of the blue dial in the red/green case and bezel?

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
Your calculations are slightly wrong as the FLE premium is £75 / $100 (not £100), but I suppose it still squeaks over the $800 threshold for US Import duty.nordwulf wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 1:23 pm There is a duty-free allowance of US$ 800 for goods imported into the USA. Plus avoiding the hassle of dealing with DHL and being overcharged, having to submit additional documentation causing import delays, you really want to keep the value below $800.
Regular C65 DM on strap:
£662.50 - £100 promo code = £562.50 = US$ 716
FLE C65 DM
£662.50 + £100 FLE premium = £762.50 = US$ 843 + $100 import duty/fees (estimate) = US$ 1,070
So that's $354 (£278) extra for an FLE so not a sensationalist statement at all.
Oh we really are splitting hairs here!

Man I love these!nordwulf wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 7:14 pm How about a Dartmouth with a fixed bezel (from the 41mm Cranwell)?
This thread poll suggest 70 people would be interested in a watch like this.

That was a wrong currency conversion in my post.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 1:57 pmYour calculations are slightly wrong as the FLE premium is £75 / $100 (not £100), but I suppose it still squeaks over the $800 threshold for US Import duty.
£662.50 + £100 FLE premium = £762.50 = US$ 975 + $100 import duty/fees (estimate) = US$ 1,075
So if it is a premium of £75, it is still way above the duty-free allowance. Add $125 for the bracelet and you're at $1,200. £895-£995 for you in Europe. That's serious watch money for many and certainly not an impulse buy for me. Perhaps dropping the chronometer movement certification will make it a bit more affordable.
I can't find the post with Kip's original estimate and I thought he mentioned a range depending on the changes. Perhaps a good idea to give this 2020 FLE it's own sub forum and move all discussions here? viewforum.php?f=27

While I'm not in the market for an FLE, I think this design is brilliant and unique.

Well for what it's worth, the blue ss c60 is stunning, followed by the two darker green wards. For me, the rest just don't work. Choose one of those three and I could well end up shocking myself.

Few all steel/silver gradient dials ...

If anyone has any Dartmouth requests, I can accommodate most things now with minimal fuss.

Dartmouth GMT in vintage blue. A GMT movement instead of a chronometer certified three-hand movement should keep the price pretty much the same.

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
StrappedUp's grey design and Nordwulf's Blue Dartmouth are quite snazzy. I'm glad to see the forum's design aesthetic has greatly improved in my absence

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
I'm not normally fan of green or gold (Bronze/brass) colour on a watch face but the green and bronze Dartmouth is really drawing my eye. It reminds me of the Seiko Alpinist which is the only green/gold watch I've ever considered. I would bite your hand off for this or or the cream dial.

Running these designs simultaneously on the CW Aficionados group, someone there suggested this design. Personally I am not a big fan of dual-color bezels but many others are.
