The C60 images show the PVD as having a brushed finish, notably on the shoulders. Will this be the case, or will the brushed finish be visible through the coating? Asking as on my C60 vintage, the PVD finish is smooth and glossy, and although subtle, I think it's a significant difference.

Devarika Woulf wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2019 5:05 pmI'd like to see a Dartmouth mock-up in the same steel case but a black bezel with cream/silver markers & red pip, cream/silver dial with black minute-markers, gold hands & hours with white lume, and black seconds-hand with red tip. I'd just like a visualization of it so maybe it could be worked on? It's pretty vintagey IMO.
Gonna bring this request back up to the front so it can be in the queue before it gets too late. Pretty much the typical Dartmouth with the gold features of this vintage Seamaster and the bezel of this vintage Submariner. A combo of sorts. :)
Hey Joseph.

Currently working on this, but will take a little longer as I'm drawing the dial/markers from nothing due to the colour scheme.

Bear with me

Also to remind, as its not been mentioned recently, that the option of a display case back, with 300m WR, is available to us; again my preference.

Guy
Are we sure that this is the case? The reason I ask is because when this was suggested for the GMT FLE which didn’t get the support, it was implied that this was only available because the tooling for the display back had already been done. I think this was in reference to the 42mm apex. Would this still be the case now we have selected a 40mm case, or would we need new tooling which may be cost prohibitive?
Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:If we ask @Kip nicely, hopefully he'll put it (whether a display back is available for the 40mm case) on his list of questions for CW.
The display back was an option for the 42mm. I think that went south when the 40mm was voted in...but I will ask.

 Those are really great! Thank you. Looks like an FLE to me; something special. Vintage vibe but not too crazy. I prefer the stainless steel on bracelet but I wonder how others feel?

The FLE is essentially the watch head - the beauty of that is that the bracelet or strap option shoul (as per previous FLEs) be entirely at the whim of the buyer.

I have to admit, they look fantastic

However, I wouldn’t buy it as it doesn’t tick my ‘date’ box, plus I’d have to shift on either my C60 GMT white dial or Bremont MB2 white dial to make way which ain’t gonna happen. COSC with date could tempt me to maybe sell the C60 but I know its not possible.

Can I just give kudos to Ryan there - he's done a fabulous job with some great photoshopping to create those designs. That was not an easy brief, as it was a long way removed from the original Dartmouth. Top work!

Ok, now that we have the original C60 design suggestions on a white background I have re-created the 8 main options we have discussed so far. These are really 4 pairs, where in each pair there is a blue bezel version and a black bezel version.

Blue Twin-Flag Transparent Dial. No Yellow Bits.

Hopefully, the white background makes them look a bit clearer and less "dark".

Is it possible to make a Dartmouth in the blue PVD and without minute markers on the bezel?

Excellent job with all your photoshop efforts so far, well done and thank you.

Can I check something regarding the different bezel colours?

I assume the black bezel version will be a black ceramic insert with a blue stainless steel PVD main bezel. What will the blue one be? I had assumed it would also be a ceramic insert, but am now wondering if it would have to have a stainless steel insert with blue PVD finish in order to match the case. If so would this adversely affect its durability compared to ceramic?

It is possible and in fact, I've already done it within my Photoshop file.
It doesn't look right imho ... vintage looking watch with a modern, blue PVD finish.
Plus, the PVD is covered by the C60 above.

If any more members request it I'll post it here, but I'm conscious of bogging down the thread with too many variants.

I could not read for a long time and there are many nice suggestions so far.
But if now the C60 (without GMT) and the PVD case Midnightblue are back in the game, I would like to make 3 suggestions.

1. a first proposal from the beginning of the project

2. C60 Midnightblue Ombre

3. C60 Steel Blue Ombre

Maybe there will be a food for thought for the new FLE # 8

FLE #8 design submissions

I haven’t been particularly taken by *any* of the previous C60 designs, but this one is an absolute corker! So, I’m going from a position of no way would I buy any of the C60 FLE contenders, I like this enough to say that I’d buy two of them if it meant the difference between it going ahead or not. It’s a beauty.

So it’s a big  from me.

P.S. If the blue PVD ombré (#2) went ahead, I might still be buying two C60s - one FLE with the second one being a standard blue steel model. I’d have the dial & movements swapped over to achieve the same look as #3, then flog off the PVD blue one for whatever I could get for it.

I truly don’t like the concept of blue PVD as I think it will look both cheap and nasty. Sorry guys, but that’s how I feel... I’ve kept quiet until now, but couldn’t keep my mouth shut any longer :/

That is rather nice.

Another not keen on the blue PVD if I'm honest.

Thank you to those for the mock ups, great efforts and I really appreciate it.

The Dartmouth on this page is excellent.
I also really prefer 2 of the tridents although all are nice in their own way
All blue with yellow bits ( will that be the official name? :) :D
and the all blue with red

Cheers
