FLE #8 design submissions
Re: FLE #8 design submissions
I'm not interested in a three handed Trident so I'm holding out for a Dartmouth based LE.
Question for Kip: As the LE will not feature the Royal Navy emblem, which is right, it doesn't see right that it will still be called the Dartmouth. Is there any chance that we can come up with our own name?
That could be fun.

If we have to stick with towns in Devon, my favourite has to be Splatford.

I am voting Exmouth. Or we could go along the coast a bit, for the retro Sandy Bay.

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
Sorry, guys – my fault for going off topic there. We should stick to the designs at the moment.

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
Back on topic, and sorry haven't totally been following the whole thread. I believe we are down to a C60 Trident or C65 Dartmouth as the basis for the FLE design.
Having tried on the Dartmouth at the London GTG, I must say I was really taken by how nicely it wore on the bracelet. I feel this would be a more original choice for the FLE, mainly because many of us have loads of divers, I do anyway, so I think a C65 FLE more memorable for that reason.

Ok, here you go...Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 4:46 pm If at all possible, will one of our photoshop experts take these two C60s with yellow highlights (bezel triangle and 'automatic') and;-
1. add yellow to the bezel markers from the triangle to, and including, the '20', plus
2. yellow to the tip of the seconds hand, including the lume dot and a millimetre or two of the shaft (to bring it level with the hour markers).
It may be too much, but it might look good. It will be great to be able to compare.
Thanks in advance.
Guy

My initial view was that there is now a bit too much yellow and I preferred the previous versions with minimal yellow bits or no yellow bits. But after looking at them again, I'm not so sure - they do look good, especially the blue bezel version. Interested in what everyone else thinks.

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
Like you my initial reaction was "too much yellow now" but looking again I think it's small details that's not quite right that gives that impression.
I realise you've photoshopped what was asked but how about leaving the 20 in white as it looks strange to have that in yellow but no minute markers between the 15th minute and 20th minute.
The other difference to the Elite is that it has the numbers 5, 10 and 15 rather than the longer bezel marker. I'm wondering what it'd look like with the 5, 10 and 15 on there in yellow and returning the 20 to white.
I prefer the blue bezel to the black.

That is a lot more work to do in Photoshop, particularly as the Elite bezel is not the right shade of blue. So it will have to go in the queue for now - but I will come back to it.

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
Thanks Steve.
Spot on with what I asked for. They look great.
One thing to think about when looking at them, whichever examples we have, is to try and look at them true to size and not +200% on a 26" PC monitor.

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
Hmm. Although I would consider buying the original design C60 Blue PVD, I must admit the yellow accents would definitely put me in the 'no' camp.

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
I very much like those with either bezel, though I prefer the blue, and I agree entirely that the 20 marker is better in white.
I would buy that. Thanks Steve.
