30% off nearly new sold out pretty darn quick in the last sell off of old logo stock a few months back. That combined with their inability to sell out limited edition models for prolonged periods and it seems fairly obvious to me that the new logo is no where near as popular as they let on.

Question is, at what point do they admit it was a massive faux pas and address the issue or do they bury their heads further in the sand and carry on regardless?

One way or the other, it will be a lose-lose situation.

These Nearly New watches will show up on eBay soon as Brand New watches as happened with previous 30% off sales.

What was the quoted term? Scalpers I think.
Lets place a 2 per item maximum to prevent 'scalpers' from buying to satisfy our non profiteering loyal fans - oh wait a minute they're not selling now. Doh!

It's difficult to tell regarding volumes of this NN sale, because from experience NN are limited in supply and you can gain an insight as to what they have available by using quantity available, but not so on this sale due to the 2 per sale limit. With some NN sales in the fairly recent past they disappeared from sale quickly because CW had maybe one or two of each item, which doesn't seem to be the case on this occasion.

So they have either alienated big buyers, or have lots of returns, or have exhausted loyal followers with sales or something else!

For the record I have purchased none because nothing appeals and the two limit rule has made no difference. I have however in the recent past returned several watches because of poor timing and not because I didn't like the watches themselves.
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

I can only speak from experience.

I initially found Christopher Ward from this image..

Image

I absolutely loved the look of the watch and immediately placed an order. (notice its new logo)

However when it arrived it was a massive disappointment. It looks great in photo's but in the flesh I just couldn't live with the big blank space when the hands were not in the top half of the dial so it got sent straight back.

I would image a few buyers had the same experience.

I feel the staging of the hands on the website photo's don't help buyers make an informed decision and probably lead to a lot of unnecessary returns.

I now own 5 CW watches, 4 old logo tridents and 1 old logo C7.

I nearly bought a C60 trident 300 today, again looks great in photo's, but knew I'd just have the same experience and end up sending it back.

For me the whole thing could be easily solved. Whilst not a fan of the 9 o clock name, I can live with it just fine (i loved the watch above), It merely needs something at 12 as well. A trident motif would be my preference, but the twin flags (applied not painted) would do to. Wouldn't take a rebrand and wouldn't cost much to implement.

Greetings,

So busy yesterday, putting a roof on the new garden house that I completely forgot about the sale!

Never mind, I hope all those that wanted something, found it!

1st December, you can open your advent calendars now.

Should CW follow Stowa and do something similar?

Stooshie - what a lovely sounding word. I have no idea what it means but I want to add it to my vocabulary, rather like "scunnered" and "drech/dreech".. "Rammies" sound a bit like a modern contraction (like "selfie") but probably isn't and what ground nesting sea birds are doing here is anyone's guess but you could continue this lesson in dialect please MissF?

I say might, as their is no guarantee a 50% sale will happen after xmas, but i'd say still a good chance of it happening nonetheless.
I'm new to CW watches and therefore this forum. Do CW have a lot of sales on new watches throughout the year?

I wonder how much was poor timing.

Having a flash sale the week after ‘Black Friday’ when people have already spent money on other non essential items and after CWL own 15% off four day mega weekend seems a bit daft to me.

Either the discretionary money has been spent elsewhere or the chosen watch was already purchased at -15% plus voucher discount.

In my case as I’ve said already there was nothing I wanted or at a right price to tempt me to impulse buy. These combined with my current issue with customer service makes me wary of buying nearly new and having to deal with issues.

I joined relatively recently and make three purchases in quick succession and had to talk with customer services for each get things resolved so the sheen has gone for me. If that is the feeling of a newbie to CWL I can imagine that older hands are even more wary.

I'm sure they still have plenty of the old style C8 Flyers, these always seem to struggle even with 50% off and if I remember correctly they didn't sell out in the clearance, they were just pulled from the clearance sale.

My wallet was glad that there was nothing I liked on the flash sale. Turkey and all the trimmings is back on the menu this Christmas. I look forward to the next sale.

I have hesitated a long time about buying a new Trident with the new logo. I wasn't sure. I knew the website pictures with the hands at 10:10 were looking great, but this was an ideal staging. Been six months already. Do I buy? Do I buy not? Looking at pictures, waiting for reports here on the forums. I want this watch so bad! I had several Tridents in the past and they were exceptional watches for the price. Waited for a sale. Will I pull the trigger or not? Then I started reading about members returning their new Tridents because they thought they wouldn't mind the new logo placement, but actually they did not like it. When I saw that Nordwulf returned his brand new blue Trident that nailed it for me : I won't be buying. Shame that CW doesn't take feedback from forum members seriously. Fix that stupid mistake please!

See it for yourself. I’ve read just as many reports of people liking it just fine in the flesh. The haters seem to be far more extravagant and vocal with their discontent. Worst case, you return it and then subject the forum to another extravagant and vocal post.
