Five minute repeater

Post by TempusFugit »

Hi everyone

I'm keen to see CW take their top end timepieces to a new level. We all know that something in the chronograph line is due but I'm saving my pounds for something really special. I'm so impressed with the quality of the C9 JH movement modification that I'm certain a repeating timepiece is achievable based on the 2892-A2 movement.

I now it is possible because the German maker Nivrel market this one for just over £5000 - http://shop.nivrel.com/edition-horaire/ ... ique/a-50/

I'm tempted by the Nivrel but if CW can make one for under £4000 then I'd wait.

What's the chances CW?
Four CWs and too many others to list!

I would think the chances are slim indeed. I'd personally prefer something a bit more "useful" like an annual calendar or a moon phase. :D
But hey, to each his/her own.

I'd like a decent moon phase too but I have to say that pushing a button to find out the time in the night would be more useful to me than knowing when the next full moon will happen!

Five minute repeater, sounds like reserecting an eighteenth century problem that is easily solved with some decent lume. :?
No more Quartz (except when I cannot resist).

I would love to see CWL come up with a repeater. 8)

I just think there are far more logical steps to further the growth of the company.

Or an ingenious way of making light via electricity and some contraption with a switch that you can keep next to your bed

Would still want one though

I like the idea of a repeater but I agree with Kip and think that this would be an illogical step for CW at this stage. I think more of a priority is sorting out marketing and image and then building on the success of the Jump hour with innovative mods or even an in house movement. Maybe the chrono that is coming out will be fully in house?
