Finally seen a CW in the wild!

Post by downer »

Despite constantly staring at blokes wrists  , I have, until today, never noticed anyone else wearing a CW watch.

In our local Store, I was buying some headache tablets from the pharmacy and spotted a C40 on the pharmacist's wrist. Couldn't help but mention it, and it turns out the guy owns 3 CW models.

So, if you are him, Hi! :)

Did you ask him if he knows about the forum?

It's all very well plucking up the courage to talk to a stranger about his watch... but it'd be too much to expect downer to confess to being a member of an internet watch forum too.

... unless...

downer, were you picking up your meds at the pharmacist as well as the tablets?

No. There was a queue (sorry, line) behind me, so I had to move on. :)

I am proud to be a member here. I may go back and mention it next time I'm collecting the meds. (I mean headache tablets, of course...)

I've seen 2 in the wild. A C5 and C70 Brooklands. I spoke to both owners about their excellent taste in watches! I was luckily wearing a CW on both occasions also! :D

We believe you.

Your mission is now to get him to join if he is not already here. Tell him we have meds too! :)

So, you want me to go up to a total stranger and ask him to join me in an internet chat room? I am also to mention meds?

I will need to give that some thought.....

I see what you mean, downer.

Maybe if you tell him that there are lots of pictures of nice new things in a gallery and that we occasionally meet up in secret locations (much to the discomfort of locals) to try on each other's pieces and share information on the best stuff from Europe and the Far East...

Was lucky enough to be talking to the Spitfire and Hurricane Battle of Britain pilots a month or so ago just after they had done a fly past over London and noticed that at least one was wearing a CW watch.

As someone who confesses to spending a lot of time looking at mens' wrists you're already on pretty thin ice.
