I pre-ordered one when they were released. I cancelled in May 2023 since I had a concern it would be too big for me. I bought an in-stock ready to ship C63 elite instead and have been thoroughly enjoying it for the past 9 months.

Simplistically, supply issues with the SH21 movements.ajax87 wrote:I'm very surprised to hear some of the C63 BMF still haven't been delivered. What gives? CW has explained away the Bel Canto delays due to the complexity of manufacturing for the dial. The C63 BMF doesn't appear to share that. The C63 BMF was a 150 piece LE. They couldn't get 150 pieces made in almost an entire year?

The car industry chip shortage is to a large extent a problem of their own making. I'm hoping that you didn't pay in full for the car at the time of orderAmor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 10:15 am This is neither to condone nor condemn…
It’s not just watches. Back in November 2022 I ordered a new car and was given a 3-4 month lead time. I eventually took delivery one year and eleven days after placing the order.
This was one of the world’s biggest car manufacturers. Reason? Shortage of chips.
Should have gone to Belgium.
I didn’t. I’ve done PCPs for many years and get a new car every three years. The dealership actually suggested changing early because used prices were so high that I would end up with a brand new, much higher spec car and pay less per month.
The price of these pens has just blown my mindmaclink wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 1:19 pm The last time I got caught up in a wait for an item that I don't need was with a fountain pen made by Conid Pen https://www.conidpen.com/. I ordered a pen since they were being made to order and the wait was over a year as well. I remember the long thread on fountainpen network with others who had ordered ranting in much the same way as in this thread.![]()
The company has since changed their approach, only selling what they've actually made, and through a third party dealer. It's now fun clicking on 'check availability' buttons that take you to a third party that has a 'subscribe for notification when available' option. You now wait for a notification that and wonder whether it's working.![]()
They were such a nice outfit at the start, but are now quite distant. I personally waited patiently for my Conid (about the price of a CW watch so it's about the same money) since I do have other pens and it wasn't a gift. What was off-putting about the wait, was the complete radio silence for most of it....![]()
Conid is like a Microbrand for the fountain pendom. Their prices are mid to high. There are fountain pens that are a lot higher in price.
Yes that’s the oneBahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 7:47 pm ^^^^ You're waiting on the C63 Sealander Blue Marine special edition, aren't you?

I've not received mine yet, but i was gently roasting Mike France about it during a chat on Saturday and he said that delivery is imminent. Apparently, the delivery schedule was knocked off course by a delay in the manufacture of a single part, which was repeatedly assured for delivery, then not supplied. I can see how this would then knock on with missed / rescheduled slots for COSC.ITCSUK wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 1:47 am Sooo excited it being the middle of March as per last email from CW….
“ I am reaching out to update you on the delivery status of your C63 SH21 Blue Marine. I previously said you would receive it end-February but due to an ongoing delay relating to completing the COSC certification process, this is now not possible. Your new date for delivery is Mid-March.”
What will it be another email or a watch!
@Chris GB you got yours yet?
Maybe if they have an unreliable supplier, they should look for another, maybe in the UK? That would be a novel idea!Chris GB wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 8:38 am but i was gently roasting Mike France about it during a chat on Saturday and he said that delivery is imminent. Then we might be talking about price increases, which could be as detrimental to sales as delivery delays. I can't imagine that CW hasn't considered this.Caller wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 3:26 pmMaybe if they have an unreliable supplier, they should look for another, maybe in the UK? If only it were that simple, I'm sure everyone would be doing it. Supply chain management is complex and a relatively small manufacturer placing a small order will always be a lower priority for a manufacturer to serve. Dual supply sources can help with lead times and price, but you then have dual supplier assessment and control to factor in. The downsides multiply once you get into multiple suppliers for each part.Caller wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 3:26 pmMaybe if they have an unreliable supplier, they should look for another, maybe in the UK?
